Frequently Asked Questions:


  • 11:00am Performers should arrive at 10:30am
  • 1:00pm Performers should arrive at 12:30pm
  • Once you park there will be signs posted guiding you where to enter.
  • There will be signs for the Dressing Room and our Show Order throughout so you know where to go.
  • Each show will last about 45 minutes.
  • Your dancer can sit with you during the show. Please bring your dancer to the Dressing Room 5 numbers before they perform. Our Teenage Assistants will be lining up everyone before they go on stage. Once your dancer is done performing, you can get them from the Dressing Room. Mr. Frank will announce when they will need to lineup for the Finale.
  • If you are are donating a gift, please bring it unwrapped. There will be an area in the lobby for you to drop off your gift or gift card.
  • We are not selling tickets. It's FREE to the Public. Feel free to invite your family and friends.
  • There will not be a videographer for our shows. You may video your dancer. All we ask is that you be courteous of those behind you so they can see the show as well.
  • If taking pictures - please no flash photography as that can be distracting to the dancers.
  • If your dancer is borrowing a costume and accessories for the show, please leave them on the rack in the Dressing Room before you leave.
  • Our Young Dancers will remain on stage after Finale for you to come and get them. There will be a "Special Guest" that will arrive during Finale. We invite you to take pictures with your dancer and our guest before you leave.

Our SEDA Christmas Charity this season is The Foster Pantry. Donation is completely optional and not required for entry to the show- just simply our way of giving back to those children in need locally. Here is a statement from The Foster Pantry explaining the program and their needs:


"Our New Placement program provides essential needs for children when they enter foster care.Our goal is to provide at least a weeks worth of items to help them adjust, provide them with NEW items to call their own, and allow the caregiver to focus on the child's emotional needs instead of having to worry about running to the store to figure out what they need." 


Basic items that all bags include:

NEW Duffel Bag/Small Suitcase

2-4 NEW outfits

2-3 NEW Pajamas

Underwear or Diapers/Pull-ups & Wipes

NEW Shoes & Socks

Dental Care (toothbrush/toothpaste/floss/mouthwash)

Hair Care (Shampoo/conditioner/brush/comb/detangler/Texture hair care)

Body Care (Lotions/Body wash/Soap)

*Feminine Hygiene Items

Stuffed Animal

3+ New Books/Journals

1-2 Toy/Activities/Puzzles/Crafts/Bath Toys/Sports Equipment

Personal Blanket/Throw

Bookbag and School Supplies

Gift Card (for ages 14+) $50-100

Infant Specific Items: Bottles/Pacifiers/Rash Cream/Diaper Bag/Age Appropriate Equipment


If you wanted to focus on specific items, here are some ideas:

Clothing Drive - NEW infant to adult sized clothing 

Shoe Drive - ALL sizes athletic shoes

Toiletry Drive - Dental Care, Hair Care, Body Care

Toy Drive - items for all ages - including sensory / educational 

Gift Card Drive - gift cards of any increment, to clothing stores, shoe stores, grocery stores, coffee shops, ice

cream shops, gaming

Birthday Box: cake mix, icing, sprinkles/candles/themed decorations/toys/gift bag with tissue paper/birthday

hat, sash, button, crown/balloons/games, activities (anything birthday related)


The Foster Pantry will organize our donations into bags for these children and distribute them all throughout the year as needed!

 


What to Wear for Dress Rehearsal & Concert


Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday First Steps: "Candy Cane Twist"

You provide: Adorable Christmas Outfit with Pink Ballet Slippers for girls, black ballet slippers for boys – casual or dressy- Hairbows or Headbands are optional. Any color- any style. 

Dress them up and show them off!       

 

Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday Age 2/3 Creative Movement: "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree"                                            

You provide: Own Christmas Top and Pants, socks, Pink ballet shoes. Hair pulled back half and half down with white hair bow.

 

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday - Age 3/4 Ballet: "We are Santa's Elves"

We provide: Elf parts, collar, wrist cuffs, hairbows - everything you need to transform into an adorable elf!

You provide: Any color turtleneck, leggings and socks-every elf is unique. Hair half up half down. Little pink ballet shoes.


Tues 5:45pm & Wed 3:45 Age 4/5 Tap: "Jingle Bells"

You provide: Your own Christmas Pajamas, tan tap shoes and sock. Hair pulled back, half up and half down with white hairbow.


Wednesday K-1 Ballet: "Feliz Navidad"

We Provide: Our ponchos and sash and red leotard for girls.

You Provide: Pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun. Boys - red turtleneck, black pants and black shoes. 


Monday K-1 Hip Hop: "Gingerbread Man"

We Provide: Brown Gingerbread Man t-shirt.

You provide: Jeans and all black sneakers/hip hop shoes. Girls hair in ponytail.


Wednesday Hip Hop: "Christmas Sleigh Bells"

We Provide: Bright green t-shirt & Holiday necklaces for all. Boys - Santa hats.

You provide: Blue jeans, black socks and all black sneakers/hip hop shoes. Girls hair in ponytail with white hair bow.


Wednesday Grades 2-4 Jazz: "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town"

We Provide: White or Red thermal shirt

You Provide: Solid black leggings, black socks, tan jazz shoes. Hair in pony with a hair bow.


Tuesday Grades 3-5 Ballet: "Waltz of the Snowflakes"

We Provide: White long sleeve leotard, tutu, snowflake for head.

You Provide: Pink tights, Pink ballet shoes, hair in bun.


Tuesday MS/HS Ballet: "Waltz of the Flowers"

We Provide: Our soft tutu, red leotard, and poinsettia hair accesory.

You Provide: Pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

 

Tuesday Adult Tap: "Like It's Christmas"

We Provide: White or Red thermal shirt, scarf and ear warmer set.

You Provide: Black Pants, Black Socks and Black Tap Shoes.


What to Wear TEAMS 

 

Tiny Team Ballet: "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas"

We provide: Girls - Red long sleeve leotard, skirt with flower, and headpiece. Boy - Holiday vest

You provide: Girls - Pink tights, pink ballet slippers, hair in bun, team necklace and earrings, full face, red lips. Boys - white dress shirt, black pants, black socks and black ballet shoes.


Mini Team Tap: "Jingle Bell Rock"

We provide: Red sequin costume with bustle and chipmunk ears

You provide: Tan tights, tan tap shoes, necklace, earrings, red lips. Hair half up, half down.


Petite Tap: "Email Santa"

We provide: Girls - Turquoise plaid shirts, dark green tshirt. Russell - Green dress shirt                           

You provide: Girls - solid black leggings, black tap shoes, team earrings, hair in ponytail. Pink Lips. Russell - black pants


Junior Team Ballet: "Sugar Plum Fairy"

We provide: White tutu, blue sash and blue hairbow

You provide: Team Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in bun. Team earrings, necklace, and red lips.


PreTeen Lyrical: "Hallelujah"

You provide: Last year's Mauve Lyrical costume with headpiece, Team earrings, Hair with left part, low ponytail. Tan stirrup tights.


Protege Team Jazz: "The Man with The Bag"

We Provide: Red velvet marabou dresses with black belt

You Provide: Black tights, black jazz shoes, team earrings, team necklace, Hair with left part, low ponytail.


Senior Jazz: "Winter Wonderland"

We provide: Red leotard with mesh over dress.

You provide: Tan tights, tan jazz shoes, team earrings and team bracelet. Hair middle part low ponytail with 2 silver rhinestone bobby pins. Red lips.

 

Don't forget to stop in the Lobby at the Christmas Concert. The SEDA Booster Club will be selling Raffle Tickets for 2 Lottery Wreaths to be drawn at each show. Concessions will also be available for sale in the Lobby.

Reminders:

Make sure your dancer's name is in all shoes. 

 

Send all dancer's to class in appropriate attire

Tights, Leotard and hair pulled up - 

either bun or ponytail.

 

Come to class on time. Entering late is very disruptive especially for our youngest dancers.

Kids & Staff In The News 


Kamryn Cox and Brooklynn Davis were inducted as a Junior Members at the November Carolina Dance Masters Convention. Brooklynn was also chosen as the 2nd Place Recipient in the Joanna Nichols Essay Winner. 


Miller Chase, Anna Cate Coiro, Kara Appleton, Kamryn Cox, Alexus Harris, Peyton Johnson, Mia Raley, Eli Raper, Russell Stevens, Kaylee Appleton, Brooklyn Davis, Katie Harrell, Emory Radford, Hayden Wilson and Tabitha Rapp all competed in the Carolina Dance Masters Solo Title Competition in November.


Mia Raley won 2nd Runner up for Junior Miss Dance of North Carolina. Russell Stevens won Junior Mister Dance of North Carolina. Eli Raper won Teen Mister Dance of North Carolina. We are so very proud of ALL of our contestants!  



Mr. James and Mr. Wells performed at Dancealorus in November here in Wilmington.


Mr. Wells will be performing in the Greater Wilmington Nutcracker at The Wilson Center, December 18-19. He will be performing as Drosselmeyer. You can order tickets through www.wilsoncentertickets.com.
