Cover Story: Halloweekend arrives at Haven Harbour, community

The holiday that some anticipate more than its December counterparts has arrived, and both Haven Harbour and Rock Hall are pulling out all the stops to ensure that Halloween this year is one of our town's most memorable yet.

Notable in community events this "Halloweekend" is the multi-day Witches of Rock Hall, that kicks-off tonight with a witchy paddle at Haven Harbour South – followed by music, curious cocktails, bites and brews at the Admirals Club Beachside Bar. The fun continues all weekend long across town, with wine tastings, story telling, dancing, crafts, games and more.

Other festive neighborhood goings-ons include tonight's Rock Hall-O-Ween Festival at the Civic Center, tomorrow evening's Trunk or Treat at Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company, as well as Monday night's town-wide Trick-or-Treat.

Meeting of the Minds: Putting best foot forward for winterization

As reported last week, fall haul and winterization processes at both Haven Harbour Marina and Haven Harbour South boatyards are well underway, and our service managers and skilled technicians have met in shifts – setting expectations and putting a sound, logistical plan forward.

"We meet annually to refresh ourselves on procedures," said Director of Service Greta Sommers. "Topics discussed include winterizing on-board systems and completing winterization check lists, as well as practicing safety and continuity between the marinas."
