Family Promise Hosting Week - January 28 - February 4

Grace will be hosting Family Promise next week! We'd love to have you join us in welcoming our guest families and making sure they have good meals and a comfortable place to stay with us.

Nearly all our volunteer slots are full, and we give thanks to everyone who has already signed up! We do still have a few opportunities for you to take part in this great ministry:

-Host dinner on Wednesday or Friday

-Evening host on Wednesday or Friday (Friday needs an evening host who can stay til 9pm!)

-Overnight host on Sunday

It's time to share your ideas for our 2024 Outreach Partnership Grant Program! 

Each year, Grace makes Partnership Grants to local non-profit aid organizations. Through this program, we partner financially and experientially with local non-profit organizations which serve to assist those in need in greater Rock Hill and York County area.

In addition to awarding a monetary grant to each partner, Grace will learn about, connect with, pray for, support, and work alongside the organization, its staff, and its clients. It is our hope that through this partnership, we will all grow in community. 

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS!

The Outreach Committee invites you to submit the names of local non-profit aid organizations that might benefit from our partnership and funding, especially at this time. We will be collecting names through January, and in February, we will begin contacting organizations to invite them to apply for a Partnership Grants.

Sponsoring Altar Flowers and Sanctuary Candle

You are invited to take part in providing beauty and symbolism in our worship space by sponsoring the Altar Flowers and Sanctuary Candle.

Grace keeps our Sanctuary Candle (the candle in the hanging red glass vessel on the font side of the Sanctuary) burning every week, a sign of the continuing presence of Jesus Christ in our lives.

You are invited to sponsor the candle in memory or honor of someone - perhaps someone who has shared Christ's presence with you!

We currently have 6 months available to be sponsored

Each Sunday, except during Lent, Grace places Altar Flowers on the back wall of the sanctuary. These floral arrangements bring beauty to our Sanctuary, which in turns honors God as we thoughtfully adorn this holy space.

You are invited to sponsor the flowers in memory or honor of someone, of an anniversary or milestone, or to something special to you.

We have many Sundays open to sponsor, including the next 4 weeks.

The cost is $45.00 for one (1) or $90.00 for both (2) vases.

Restarting the Grace Card Ministry (Rachel's Ring)

Our card-making ministry has been on hiatus for a while, but we're bringing it back! This ministry involves creating greeting cards and sending them to members on the prayer list, those experiencing life milestones, those needing encouragement, and more!

We need your input to get the program up and running once more. If you're interested in taking part in card-making and sending, please click HERE to answer questions about your availability.

Seniors @ Grace

Seniors @Grace will start the new year of fun activities with Bingo on Thursday, January 25th. We will gather at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall with lunch at 12 noon followed by a few fun games of Bingo. The menu is not planned yet but Annie-Laurie’s sister will do the cooking so we all know it will be good.

This is the time to bring items that you are willing to share for Bingo prizes. We had a great suggestion to not wrap prizes so winners can make their own selection. So gather anything useful or fun or just something you have loved but are ready to part with and we will swap them around. Lunch will be $6.00. No inflation for S@G!

Please RSVP to Annie Laurie Wheat by January 23 so we can have enough food and dessert!

Pets Looking for a New Home

One of our members, Margaret, is moving to be closer to family, and we rejoice with her at this opportunity!

However, the place she's moving is not suitable for cats, and she's looking for a home for her bonded pair. They are both indoor cats, have been fixed, and still have their claws.

They're about 10 years old.

If you're interested in adopting a couple of sweet cats, please contact the church office.
