Morris Park Infrastructure Upgrades

from NYC Parks and NYC DOT

NOW OPEN! Loreto Park Multi-Purpose Area

We are thrilled to announce that the Loreto Park Multi-Purpose Sports area that was under construction for the past 2 years is now open to the public! We are urging all residents to be mindful of cleanliness and use the trash receptacles! Thank you @nycparks for completing this project and restoring the space for the #MorrisPark community!

Upgrading for accessibility the sidewalks along the Morris Park Avenue commercial corridor

We appreciate the effort of the NYC DOT teams during August and early September, upgrading and enhancing for #accesibility Morris Park Avenue sidewalks! Multiple intersections were addressed, with new painting and pavement redone.

Bronxdale Avenue Road Re-design: Floating Parking

Please be mindful of @nyc_dot crews at work on Bronxdale Ave - painting the new roadway configuration. Bike lane and parking lane are still very confusing at the blocks between #MorrisPark Ave and Rhinelander and Van Nest Ave. Thank you!

Morris Park Avenue commercial properties

upgrading and enhancing their facades

Following two years of pandemic, it is very encouraging to see properties renovating facades and improving the aspect of #MorrisPark Avenue! Photo of North side of block between Radcliff and Colden new “Morris Park Business Center”. We are hoping that our elected officials along with  Con Edison, @nycplanning and NYC DOT would consider plans for undergrounding the unsightly utilities wiring, and upgrade this section of the corridor with modern M-type metallic poles and light fixtures, as already in place west of Bronxdale Ave. We are hopeful that capital improvement plans will soon start being discussed for the Morris Park Avenue commercial corridor over the next years!

Morris Park BID Beautification Program - Summer 2022

We are grateful to our contractors supporting our beautification program, The Horticultural Society of New York and Streetplus. During August the staff of our partners at Streetplus worked hard to remove weeds and cutting overgrown plants on #MorrisPark Avenue sidewalks. This is a supplementary sanitation service MPBID is providing to the commercial corridor. We appreciate everyone’s support keeping the avenue clean, and using appropriately the trash receptacles. We also appreciate the staff at The Hort that created beautiful mini-gardens along the corridor throughout the summer. We look forward for the beautiful colors of the fall!y Garden

Healthy Fresh - expansion and renovation

Did you check the new look of Healthy Fresh at 1033 Morris Park Ave? Beautiful space renovation and expansion, matching the quality, freshness and variety of healthy foods, fruit and vegetable smoothies! Positive vibes - Congratulations!

Addeo's Pizza & Restaurant -  Customer Appreciation Day

Addeo's Giving Back to the Community

It was a beautiful day on Morris Park Avenue, made possible by Addeo's Pizza and Restaurant - that every September organizes a Customer Appreciation Day. Children and families enjoyed entertainment pizza slices and elaborated entrees all day, as well as the beautiful, renovated space, clean lines, tasty ingredients and exquisite presentation - $1 slices and free entertainment for the children! Thank you Larry at Addeo’s Of The Bronx!

MPBID summer events in Loreto Playground: Movies under the Stars and NYC Parks PlayMobile

In August 21st August All Morris Park families and New York City Department of Parks & Recreation have joined us at Loreto Playground for two days. The first day, everyone enjoyed the painting, chess game, hula hoop and many other games which were well-loved by both children and adults. The next day was such a beautiful evening for everyone to enjoy together a movie under the stars.

Thanks to everyone joined us and special thanks to Patsy's Pizza Morris Park for the pizza!
