Welcome to A Generous LIFE!

The stewardship team at Lord of Life has been collecting stories of God’s abundance revealed through the life and action of our congregation. We hope you enjoy reading about how your friends, pew-mates, and fellow disciples have been touched by God’s grace and are being led to lives of generosity.

Linda Nicolosi came to Lord of Life looking for a welcoming place with good music where she and her husband could raise their family.

Lord of Life became her church home decades ago when the pastor called her by name on the third time her family visited. She felt recognized! Additionally, her family was drawn to the music and liturgy. Linda said that they were blessed with a visit from Pastor Don Gebert, and also that they met people whom they still count as friends.

Linda believes that the ministry outside of Lord of Life’s walls in the community is as important as caring for members within our congregation.

She learned generosity from her father. In his daily life, he was always willing to help others and give of his time whether with neighbors, coaching a little league team or with colleagues at work. When Linda began to work in the church nursery, he taught her to give back some of her earnings to the church, and that was the start of her church giving.

Linda’s father was a generous man who never cared about recognition – funding scholarships and giving to his family. Linda’s words: “Generosity is not limited to the church but becomes part of life. The best thanks I can give for his example is to pay it forward and practice generosity in my own life.”

Linda believes in the ministries that our church supports, and she wants to help with those endeavors. She strongly believes that all of our gifts of time are every bit as important as our financial gifts. She believes both are needed to truly love our neighbors. True stewardship recognizes the value of both.

Linda hopes that Lord of Life can continue to be the welcoming congregation that she found, and to be known in the community as a place that helps others through outreach and service. Her dream is that Lord of Life can become what the next generation needs in a way that honors the foundation that has been created.
