Letter from our Director - Brandon Armstrong
The 2024 year is off to fast start here in Tipton County. We have transitioned from a 6 month to a 12 month program (9 month residential and 3 months aftercare). The adoptions of the program has brought with it a group of clients who take their recovery serious and who are intentional to create an environment conducive for recovery.
Over this first quarter of 2024 we have witnessed the partnership with several organizations. 180 Degree Ministries and Daniel Hodges who has consistently shared with our guys on a weekly basis and provides support groups upon graduation.
Also, Pastor Shawn Moses (Canaan Baptist Church) initiated an interest to teach weekly and host graduation services for our clients. He remains involved in the progress of our clients.
In addition, River of Life Church in Millington consistently provides donations for our men and women on a bi-weekly basis. Donating thousands of dollars of hygiene supplies, snacks, food for our kitchen and clothing.
First United Methodist Church has provided approximately 100 rotisserie chickens this year for our kitchen manager to provide meals to our clients. They remain a constant resource for us. These partners have been encouraging and supportive every step of the way for our staff and clients.
Our partner at Express Chevrolet, Ed Doyle, with our community, has created Tipton County Community Garden. We were invited to secure a 10 x 20 lot in this garden to begin planting and harvesting with over 15 community organizations to secure fresh food for our county. Our clients will be participating in this weekly to plant, weed and harvest throughout this next season.
As we move forward this year we expect God to open more doors for our campus with our community as we build deeper relationship with our current partners and with those who have expressed interest.
