The 2nd Annual Glow Trail Run 5K and Kids 1-Miler was an incredible success! Held on Saturday, October 5th at the Heart of Virginia Council Scout Reservation in Goochland, Scouts, families, and friends experienced a thrilling nighttime tour of camp like never before. Runners raced through the glowing trails, finishing strong and earning unique LED medals before enjoying a delicious camp dinner. A huge thank you to our participants, sponsors, and volunteers for helping us create unforgettable memories at our favorite place. We can’t wait to see you at our upcoming fall and winter events! | |

Silver Beaver Award Leader Nominations
Due Saturday, November 30th
The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a Scout Council can bestow. It is awarded for noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by registered Scouters within a Council. It is given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. The Silver Beaver Award is given to those who do not seek it. To receive the Award, a Scouter must be nominated by a registered Scouter on a Nomination Form provided by the National Office. Nominations are due by November 30th!

Virginia War Memorial 2024 Veterans Day
Student Essay Contest
Due Sunday, October 20th
The Virginia War Memorial in Richmond is seeking entries for its 2024 Veterans Day Student Essay Contest. The annual competition is open to all Virginia middle and high school age public, private, and homeschooled students. One winner will be selected from among all middle school entries (grades 6-8) and one from high school entries (grades 9-12). The deadline is midnight, Sunday, October 20th!

Tiger & Lion Rally Registration is Open

The Tiger & Lion Rally is a special event we run each fall with Tiger & Lion Scouts (and their families). You're invited to Cub Adventure Camp for the day to have fun and become familiar with our exciting facilities. Adventures include archery, wrist rockets, a scavenger hunt, fishing, BMX biking, crafts, and other fun activities.

Creepy Hollow at Cub Adventure Camp
October 19th—20th & 26th—27th
Join us at Cub Adventure Camp for a weekend filled with fall fun and spooky thrills! Whether you stay overnight in your own tent or just visit for the day, the Heart of Virginia Council welcomes all Cub and Webelos Scouts to experience this event with your Pack or as a family campout. Arrive on Friday to set up camp, or come for the day on Saturday to enjoy a variety of Fall and Halloween-themed activities. Highlights include BB shooting, archery, fishing, a haunted trail, crafts, a costume contest, and so much more! Meal plans for weekend 1 are sold out!

Summer Camp is a core part of Scouting, and we are excited to have everyone back out at camp for the summer of 2025! Camp T. Brady Saunders has been offering an outdoor experience to the youth of Central Virginia and beyond since the summer of 1964. Our camp has amazing facilities and a diverse program offering geared toward all levels of Scouting.
