Silver City Fest

We're thrilled to announce that Silver City Fest is back this year on September 7th! Mark your calendars for a day filled with fun, food, and festivities.

This year, we're excited to announce that the festival is growing to include an additional block from 35th to 32nd Street on National Avenue, promising even more excitement and activities for everyone to enjoy.

If you or anyone you know is interested in participating as a vendor at Silver City Fest, now is the time to submit your application. Whether you're showcasing crafts, food, or products, we welcome all vendors to join us in making this year's festival a huge success.

We encourage vendors to take advantage of our early bird special: April 1st – May 31st:

  • Regular Price – June 1st to August 31st
  • Registration closes August 31st

What VIA's Been Up To!

2024 Neighborhood Meetings

Thank you for attending our March neighborhood meeting on Home Repair resources and opportunities. We are grateful our partners at Revitalize Milwaukee could join us and share details on their Roofing Repair Program. For more information, please visit their website or call Verdia at (414) 312-7531.

Please save the date, Wednesday, April 10th, 6pm-7:30pm for our April neighborhood gathering. Join us for a night of Lotería! Bring your family, friends, and neighbors. Everyone will have the opportunity to create their own Lotería card and play to win door prizes.

Brew City Match

Since VIA's participation in Brew City Match beginning January 2024, 14 neighborhood businesses have received over $80,000 in financial support. This support has been instrumental in helping these businesses strengthen their brand through marketing, purchase new equipment, renovate their storefronts, pay rent, and more. We continue to accept applications and encourage both existing brick and mortars and those seeking to move into a storefront in the Silver City, Burnham Park, Layton Park, or Clarke Square neighborhoods to apply. Your business is important to us, and we encourage you to apply.

For any questions about the program, please get in touch with Brisa E. Van Galen, Economic Development Director, at brisa@viacdc.org or by phone/text at (414) 409-8832.

Elections

We're thrilled to have hosted our second Mock Election at Cristo Rey High School. Thank you to Cristo Rey for their commitment to fostering civic engagement among our youth.

Join us this Friday, April 5th, for our Spring Election Celebration! Let's celebrate the power of democracy together.

We encourage all our neighbors to express their right to vote and use their voices to make a difference. Every vote counts, every voice matters.
