Our Total Solar Eclipse takes place in the Gandanta zone of Scorpio just before entering into Sagittarius.
Gand means a knot. Anta means the end. Gandanta means the knot at the end. A well-tied knot is complicated to unravel. Gandanta represents a knot within ourselves, a deep issue that we are trying to reconcile. When planets are placed in these positions, one becomes faced with uncertainty trying to unravel the karmic knot. However, once unraveled, the next level is revealed.
The gandanta zone always takes place between the opposing elements of water and fire signs. In elemental theory, when water and fire combine, an intense, explosive transformation occurs. The water changes from a liquid to a gas with extreme speed, increasing dramatically in volume resulting in steam. And in reality, when the fire of worldly passions, desires, and righteousness comes up against the watery values of spirituality and the true nature of your being, an intense churning of inner turmoil begins.
The churning can be subsided just as water and fire can be mixed. A container such as a pot will allow the fire to heat the water safely to the right temperature. And you are the container for the material and spiritual to blend to homeostatic balance.
This is life in the gandanta zone. Trying to preserve any self-created identity through materialistic wants and desires will only further tighten the knot and result in a substantial explosion of inner turmoil.
Covid-19 ravages our lives, families, and friends while we ravage our planet. Politicians and leaders push for commerce. People are dying at the hands of those who consider themselves superior. Small businesses suffer. At the same time, large corporations receive the money you need. The haves and have nots, and the list goes on and on.
2020 has felt like one big gandanta zone. WE are trying to unravel the karmic knot that WE as a society have tied. Each one of us must come face to face with ourselves and take responsibility for our part.

Ketu and Mercury join the Sun and Moon in Jyestha/Scorpio for our Total Solar Eclipse. With Mercury here feeding the intellect, the mind will experience considerable turmoil in the gandanta zone, and it may guide you in the wrong direction. Take the time to be still, and listen for Jyestha’s wisdom of the Elders to guide you to homeostatic balance.
Venus is also in Scorpio and not far behind Sun, Moon, Mercury & Ketu. Venus in Scorpio is much like Venus and Pluto together. It could be an ecstasy filled trip straight to the underworld of destruction. I personally know this all too well, and all I can say is you will come out intensely transformed and stronger than before.
Jupiter and Saturn are in planetary war, with Satun winning.....for the moment. As they move closer and closer towards "The Great Conjunction," you may feel restricted, limited, work over play, karma playing its hand.
The Winter Solstice brings us the Guru (Jupiter) and The Lord of Karma (Saturn) coming together as never before seen in our lifetime. Spiritual Karma is the gift in the bag. Will you rise up like the Sun on Christmas Day and begin the same journey of increasing light? Or will you hit the snooze button, pull the covers over your eyes, and tighten the karmic knot?
