Special Message from PRSA Southern Arizona's Board President

Laura Kruszewski, MBA

Hey PRSA Southern Arizona Chapter! I hope your 2024 is off to a strong start. We’ve already had two great events so far: the Storytelling Strategies: Advice from Local Media webinar held in February, and the Peak Performance Mixer held in March with more than 30 PRSSA students and professionals in attendance. Your local Board of Directors is hard at work coordinating programs that will help you do your job more efficiently, so you’ll want to stay tuned to future communications and visit our website for the latest details!

One last note: April is APR month, and we encourage you to explore obtaining your accreditation in public relations. It’s not just about studying PR history; you’ll learn the ins and outs of the RPIE (research, planning, implementation and execution) process, which will make your campaigns more effective. Find out which communication and messaging theories can help aid in the success of your messaging, and so much more!

Leading with Inclusion

Join us for an empowering program as we delve into the pivotal role of inclusion in leadership. It is not just a program; it's a movement towards creating inclusive and dynamic leadership environments that drive innovation and success. This program will not just acknowledge the importance of inclusion, but share actionable steps to lead with inclusivity, empathy, and authenticity.

Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of the conversation and drive positive change in your community. Save the date - May 28 from 12:00-1:00pm. Registration details coming soon.

PRSA-PRSSA Peak Performance Mixer

Approximately 30 PRSA Chapter members and PRSSA students from University of Arizona met and mingled on March 26, giving each group a unique opportunity to meet and learn from each other. Many of the attending PRSSA students are graduating soon and exploring professional opportunities.

In connecting with the students, Chapter members described some of their journeys, positions and responsibilities as PR professionals, offering insights and pointers while encouraging them in their academic and career pursuits. Members were also able to enlighten students about the value of PRSA membership in building their PR careers.

In turn, the students shared their interests, courses of study, skills acquisitions, and internship experiences, while using the opportunity to query Chapter members on a variety of topics related to pursuing a career in PR.

Thanks to all who attended this successful and fun event!
