JOIN "CONNECT VOLUSIA"

Connect Volusia is a new public safety program enabling the people of Volusia to help keep their community safe!

The Platform allows residents and businesses to add their security cameras to a countywide database that will help detectives quickly track down video evidence and solve crimes.

Camera registration does NOT give the Sheriff's Office access to anyone's live video. It only provides location information to track down cameras when an incident occurs. Registrant information will be kept confidential.

Your participation will greatly enhance emergency preparedness by enabling police, fire, and public safety professionals to better assess and rapidly respond to criminal activity and emergencies. It will also enable investigators to easily gather evidence in case of an incident. Learn more:

Courtesy Letter About Commercial Signage

Did you know that the City has a Sign Ordinance? Many commercial businesses within DeBary have recently received a courtesy letter from the City Code Enforcement Officer. Here is what to know to ensure YOUR business isn't breaking any City codes.

Prohibited signs include:

  • Snipe signs
  • Any A-frame sign
  • Sings attached to or painted on vehicles that are not regularly used s part of the advertised business and are parked or located in such a way as to advertise to the passing motorist or pedestrian in a manner inconsistent with this code
  • Signs, commonly referred to as wind signs, consisting of one or more banners, pennants, ribbons, spinners, streamers, captive balloons, or other devices fastened in such a manner as to move upon being subjected to pressure by wind, and including inflatable signs.
  • Signs erected on private utility facilities or rights-of-way
  • Signs that are mounted on rocks or other natural features or affixed to trees
