The School Year Is Off to a Wonderful Start!

We had our 29th "First Day of School" in August (next year we celebrate our 30th!), and the school year is flying by! We were thrilled to welcome over 430 students this year, and we continue to receive record-level numbers of applications and interest in our school. It is always special to welcome “Legacy” students – children of our alumni – and this year we have 9 legacy families. We are blessed with such a wonderful community!

Over the past few months our students have enjoyed participating in many beloved St. Theresa traditions, including the Living Rosary & Backpack Buddy food drive; Fall Fest; the Veterans Day program hosted by our 5th grade; and – just last week – our beautiful Christmas Pageant. We also have a few new traditions: last spring we invited the STCS class of 2019 to celebrate their high school graduations with a fun walk through our halls and time to reminisce; in October we hosted our first-ever First Grade Grandparents Day; our Middle School Art Elective created a fall craft with the parish Young at Heart Club and our Choir performed Christmas songs at their recent meeting; and our Middle School students had a special Retreat Day with the theme, "How Can We Serve Others?" We have much to be grateful for!

First-ever First Grade Grandparents Day

We were thrilled to host our inaugural First Grade Grandparents Day in October! It was wonderful to welcome over 80 grandparents and "grand-friends" to spend time in our First Grade classrooms, enjoy a treat and activities, and attend Mass together with their grandchild. The day concluded with our students singing the STCS Alma Mater. So much fun, laughter, and smiles -- we can't wait for next year's event!

Annual Thunder Appeal - Anchored in Faith

Click the photo to view an important video message from our students! Can you make a tax-deductible gift to help us reach our goal of $60,000? This year's Thunder Appeal, "Anchored in Faith," supports our students and faculty and will help us continue to provide an exceptional faith-filled and academic environment. We hope you received Mrs. O'Malley's letter to you in November. To make a gift, you may click here to make a gift now or send a check to the school office (note "Thunder Appeal" in the memo line). Please know that every gift counts, and we appreciate your support!

We are so grateful to our alumni families and friends who support STCS! Your generosity in last year's Thunder Appeal was so appreciated and helped make it a success. Please click here to see our Gratitude Report.

New STREAM Lab & Outdoor Classroom

We are excited to have a new STREAM Lab and Outdoor Classroom this year! You may remember many years ago we were thrilled to install our first Computer Lab...now, with our Chromebook program and iPads, we no longer need a classroom dedicated to desktop computers! Instead, we converted that space into a STREAM Lab (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, & Math) -- a space dedicated to hands-on learning and problem-solving, enhancing creativity, building critical thinking skills, and fostering collaboration. Our students enjoy the use of the STREAM Lab when they have Computer class, Middle School STREAM Seminar, Math enrichment, and more!

The Outdoor Classroom is located near the back entrance to the Msgr. McMurtrie Gymnasium, and features a beautiful setting with benches surrounded by the Stations of the Cross walk.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many current and alumni parents, our students are already enjoying these wonderful new additions to our campus!

2024-2025: Celebrating 30 Years of St. Theresa Catholic School!

Can you believe it's been nearly 30 years?! St. Theresa Catholic School (STCS) opened in August 1994 to welcome our very first students, and we are thrilled to celebrate 30 years of STCS next school year! From that very first day, we have been blessed with a wonderful parish and families who are so vested in our school mission and success. Our alumni families have been the foundation for our growth, and we hope you'll celebrate this milestone with us!

We are planning an Alumni & Alumni Parent event at school in the fall, and could use your help! We are looking for Alumni/Alumni Parents who would like to help plan and be 'Ambassadors' to reach out to STCS friends to save the date (not a big job, just FUN!). Please email Regina Freschi, freschir@stsashburn.com for details. We can't wait to welcome you back to STCS!

Another Record-Breaking FOSTS Tournament!

The 13th Annual Friends of St. Theresa School (FOSTS) Golf Tournament for Tuition Assistance was a tremendous success! FOSTS was formed in 2006 by St. Theresa School parents to assist families experiencing financial hardship. Over the years, FOSTS has awarded over $450,000 to nearly 300 students. Again this year, we sold out our golf slots and had another record-breaking day! We were thrilled to have so many alumni parents golf, volunteer, and sponsor -- thank you all! Click here to see our Tournament Sponsors & Donors; we are very grateful for their support. Please join us next year on Monday, October 7, 2024! Not a golfer? No worries, join us for dinner!

Thank You, Laura! We would like to extend a very special "Thank You!" to Laura Dwinnell, STCS Alumni parent ('08, '09, '13, '15)! Laura was instrumental in the founding and success of Friends of St. Theresa School, serving on the Board and supporting the golf tournament for many years. She stepped down from her role as FOSTS Secretary this year -- we are truly grateful for her leadership and support!
