Dear Rising Tide Students and Families,


We hope to see many of you at this year's STEM Night, starting at 6:28 on Thursday evening. For those interested in playing sports this spring, be sure to register by this Thursday. Next week, families of students in grades 8-11 are invited to join us for an information session about next year's trip to Spain to visit Madrid, Cordoba, and Seville. We will also have a college and future planning night next week geared towards students in grade 11 and their families.

Upcoming Events

Tuesday, March 12 - Friday March 15: Students in grades 8-12 who take Latin

will be taking the National Latin Exam during their Latin class periods.


Wednesday, March 13: This will be a full-day professional day. School is closed for the day.


Thursday, March 14: Students interested in trying out for a spring sport must register online here before March 14Spring sports include boys' and girls' tennis, baseball, and softball.


Thursday, March 14: STEM Night will take place at Rising Tide beginning at 6:28 pm. All students and families are welcome to enjoy STEM-related activities.


Monday, March 18: Rising Tide students in grades 5 and 7 will host a visit from middle school students who attend the Showa Institute in Tokyo, Japan. These visits provide our students with the opportunity to learn from others their own age about another culture and traditions.


Monday, March 18: The Spring Sports Season begins.


Monday, March 18: The Rising Tide Board of Trustees will have its monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. This meeting is open to the public.


Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20: Rising Tide's Indian Folklore Music Club will host a bake sale during middle school lunch to raise money for the National Wildlife Federation, supporting conservation work that helps wild camels.


Tuesday, March 19: Parents/guardians of upper school students and current grade 8 students are invited to attend an informational meeting about the 2025 Trip to Spain at 6:30 pm in the Atrium.


Wednesday, March 20: Rising Tide's National Honor Society will host a bake sale in the morning to raise money for the Malala Fund.


Thursday, March 21: Rising Tide will host a College & Future Planning Night for juniors and their families at 6:00 pm in the Atrium.


Friday, March 22: Middle school students in grades 5 and 6 will participate in the championship round of the Middle School Spelling Bee.


Monday, March 25: The Barbie Club will hold a bake sale during middle school lunch to raise money for the Boston Women's Heritage Trail.


Tuesday, March 26: Students in grade 10 will participate in session 1 of the ELA MCAS test.


Wednesday, March 27: Students in grade 10 will participate in session 2 of the ELA MCAS test.


Wednesday, March 27: There will be a fundraising event at the Red Robin restaurants in Plymouth and Wareham, MA.


Wednesday, March 27: The second pre-departure meeting for those registered for the Trip to Italy will take place at 6:30 pm in the Atrium.


Thursday, March 28: The next SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) meeting will be held at 7:00 pm via Zoom. Interested families can join the meeting by clicking on the meeting link here.


Friday, March 29: School will be closed in observance of Good Friday.


Thursday, April 4: There will be a final pre-departure meeting for those registered for the Trip to Ireland at 6:30 pm in the Atrium.

Rising Tide's School Store Closes Tonight

Rising Tide's School Store closes at midnight tonight. If you are interested in purchasing school apparel or merchandise, please do so before midnight.

Join Us for STEM Night!

Rising Tide's STEM Night will take place this Thursday, March 14 from 6:28 to 7:30 pm. All students and family members are invited to join us for an evening of exploring, learning, and sharing some pie together. We will have teacher- and student-led activities for our families to participate in. As always, admission is free but we do encourage potluck donations to our “Pi Day” buffet.

2025 Upper School Trip to Spain

Parents/guardians of upper school students and current grade 8 students are invited to attend an informational meeting about the 2025 Trip to Spain on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 pm in the Atrium. RSVP to attend the meeting here.

Rising Tide to Host College Planning Night for Juniors 

Rising Tide will host a College Planning Night for grade 11 students and their families next Thursday, March 21 at 6:00 pm in the Atrium. This will serve as an introduction to the college process and feature a lively panel of admissions representatives from different kinds of colleges who are all looking forward to answering questions. Confirmed to date are representatives from UMass Dartmouth, Wheaton College, Cape Cod Community College, and Mass Maritime Academy. 

Registration is Open for Summer Painting Studio Enrichment Classes

This July, we will once again be offering two weeks of our popular Summer Painting Studio class. These classes are open to all students in grades 5-12, as well as incoming students who will be new to Rising Tide in the 2024-25 school year. Students of all levels of experience will expand on their visual art skills while exploring painting in this fun and informative studio workshop. Each student will be working with easy-to-learn techniques to take their ideas from small sketches to larger-sized compositions with confidence. Students will enjoy learning a variety of new application techniques to incorporate into their own style and creativity as they compose their own work. 


Session One runs July 15-19 and Session Two runs July 22-26, 2024. Classes start at 8:00 am and end at 12:00 pm each day. The cost is $225 per week-long session. If you have any questions about these classes, please feel free to contact Mr. Walker at 508-747-2620 ext. 300 or via email at twalker@risingtide.org.

Rising Tide's 2nd Annual 5K is Saturday, May 11th Join us for Rising Tide Charter Public School's 2nd Annual 5K on Saturday, May 11, beginning at 9:00 am. There will be music, raffles, snacks, and t-shirts. This event is open to the public and all ages are welcome. Runners of the 5K will be officially timed and enjoy a challenging course complete with Plymouth's own heartbreak hill. Check out the race course here.

9:30 am: Kids' 1/4 Mile Fun Run (Ages 10 and under)

10:00 am: 5K Begins


Registration for runners and walkers is now open. Early-bird pricing is $20 (only $10 for a Rising Tide student) and includes a t-shirt for runners who register on or before April 15. All registrations are $20 after April 15. We have many sponsorship opportunities available. Recent Happenings At Rising Tide

Accepted Students Day Held Last Week

Newly accepted students for the 2024-2025 school year, along with family members, were invited to visit Rising Tide last Wednesday to take a tour of the school, meet school leaders and current students, and gather more information about programs and community life. Some of our current students shared information about school clubs and activities and also gave musical performances.
