Recap: Houston Regional Meeting

Thank you to all that attended the CPR Institute Energy, Oil and Gas Alliance's 7th annual Houston Regional Meeting on January 17. The theme was "How Energy Companies Choose To Resolve Disputes Around the World." Attendees were able to learn about different factors that might impact a company’s decision to choose arbitration over litigation, who makes the final decisions, and how to talk to the other side about what you've chosen and why.


Special thanks to our wonderful panelists and moderator for sharing their insights and experience in the energy sector.


This program was moderated by Y-ADR Steering Committee member Denton Nichols from Norton Rose Fulbright.

Recap: Africa Arbitration Day - New York

CPR's first annual 2023 Global Conference: Africa Arbitration Day- New York (AAD-NY) was a huge success!


This free hybrid event, co-hosted by the NYC Bar Association at its beautiful building in mid-town Manhattan, highlighted important issues and trends relevant to arbitration in Africa and fostering greater community among international arbitration practitioners in North America and Africa.

Experienced mediators are invited to serve as Mediation Competition Judges in Brazil

1. You are able to participate in-person (no virtual judging is available), 

2. You have significant experience in mediation, and

3. You are comfortable communicating with the student teams in English.

Y-ADR at Georgetown Arbitration Month

CPR is pleased to once again support the Georgetown International Arbitration Society (GIAS) as a “Supporting Organization” for the 12th annual Georgetown Arbitration Month, which will be held between February 1, 2024 – February 29, 2024 in Washington DC.


The 2024 edition of Arbitration Month promises to be an enriching experience with a diverse range of panels, which will delve into crucial topics such as ESG and Human Rights in Investment Arbitration; Construction Disputes; Sports Arbitration; and Institutional Arbitration.

Stay or Dismiss? The Supreme Court Grants Cert on Its Third Arbitration Case This Term

The U.S. Supreme Court granted a petition for certiorari to take the third arbitration case of its 2023-2024 term, Smith v. Spizzirri, No. 22-1218 (the Court’s case docket is available at https://bit.ly/48wt09w).
