Murdy's Gratitude Project Honors Veterans

This week, Murdy Elementary sixth graders interviewed former U.S. Army Ranger and Vietnam Veteran 1st Lieutenant Dan Barlow as part of a year-long program called The Gratitude Project. As part of the project, students identify evidence of gratitude experienced by survivors of war. This is 1st Lieutenant Barlow’s third time participating in The Gratitude Project. This is a wonderful and engaging project that brings the importance of Veterans Day to life.

GGUSD Thanks Our School Psychologists

It’s National School Psychology Week and in GGUSD we have expanded our team of school psychologists to more than 55! The mental health services our school psychologists provide to our students are deeply important and impactful. As a way to spotlight the important work of school psychologists, we asked our amazing Department Chairs Georgia English and Johnathan Vu to share what they love about their role as well as their favorite wellness tips. Thank you GGUSD School Psychologists – we appreciate you!

Making a Commitment to Kindness

Wakeham Elementary School students made a commitment to stick together against bullying. Every class participated in an assembly with the principal and school coach to discuss how they can "stick together" and stand up against bullies. The program is sponsored by DuckTape. Every student signed their name to a piece of Duck Tape and placed it on the poster with the pledge to be kind and stick together.
