Capital Improvement Project:
March Lane Bike Path

The March Lane/EBMUD Bike Path project is underway. This City project will widen, resurface, and install updated signs and pavement marking on the bicycle and pedestrian path from Brookside Road to Hillsboro Drive. It also improves connectivity and accessibility to the streets and signalized intersections along the route, improving the bicycle and pedestrian path. This project is part of a City-wide effort, the Stockton Master Bicycle Plan, to improve the infrastructure to make Stockton safer and more comfortable for cyclists and promote safer, healthier travel options for Stockton pedestrians and cyclists.
Stockton CARMAX Opens

CARMAX joined the Stockton business community on June 23, 2022, holding a grand opening event that included a ribbon-cutting hosted by the Greater Stockton Chamber, facility tours, and speeches from the Stockton City Council members. The company was originally founded in 1993 and has over 220 stores nationwide. The new, seven-acre site in Stockton is located at 3928 East Hammer Lane and includes nearly 300 spaces for vehicles and 37 full-time jobs for the community. Downtown Developments

CodeStack Academy Moving to Downtown Stockton

The San Joaquin County Office of Education announced an agreement to purchase a site in Downtown Stockton to be the new headquarters for CodeStack Academy, Stockton's first immersive software engineering school. CodeStack will be located at 201 N. California Street at the "Triangle" building (a nickname coined thanks to the large triangle mural on the side of the building) and directly across the street from San Joaquin Regional Transit District's Downtown Transit Center. This move brings the technology and innovation hub to the heart of downtown.

Concerts at the Park
Wednesday Nights through August

Victory Park will host Stockton's summer concert series, Concerts in the Park. These family-friendly concerts are free to the public. Lawn chairs and picnics are welcome. Use the link below for more details and the concert schedule.
StocktonCon
August 13th & 14th

StocktonCon, a celebration of pop culture and entertainment, is back at the downtown Stockton Arena for the 10th year. During this two-day event, attendees experience popular culture, including comics, games, cards, anime, manga, science fiction, toys, television, movies, and more. The event lineup includes celebrity guests, artists, vendors, and character cosplay.
Stockton Brew Fest
September 10th

Stockton Brew Fest, a celebration of craft beer, is taking place in downtown Stockton at Weber Point. The event includes beer tasting, live music, and games. VIP tickets are also available for early access to the festival, including early access to special beers with limited availability.

CalAsian to Operate the San Joaquin Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

The SBA has selected the California Asian Chamber of Commerce (CalAsian) to operate the federal SBDC program in San Joaquin County. CalAsian took over the center after San Joaquin Delta Community College's term for operating the SBDC was complete. The SBDC's new contact and location information can be found on the website, linked below.

California Dream Fund

The California Dream Fund is a one-time grant program to seed entrepreneurship and small business creation throughout the state. Participants will complete an intensive training program through participating centers, including the San Joaquin Small Business Development Center. Following successful completion, new businesses will be eligible to apply for a microgrant of up to $10,000.

San Joaquin County Revolving Loan Fund

The San Joaquin County Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) is available to any company in or considering expanding in San Joaquin County. The RLF is intended to help businesses create or retain jobs. The maximum loan amount is $2,000,000. One job must be created or retained for every $75,000 loaned. Use the link below to learn more about eligibility and program requirements.

iHub San Joaquin Receives $250k Grant to Accelerate and Spur Innovation

iHub San Joaquin received a $250,000 grant from the California Office of the Small Business Advocate to implement a three-year strategy to stimulate partnerships, economic development, and job creation. Priorities of the project will include small business development and support for entrepreneurs.

Rising Sun Climate Careers for Youth

Rising Sun is a nonprofit that combines workforce development programs with economic equity and climate resiliency. The organization's Climate Careers program employs Stockton youth to provide energy efficiency services to households in the community. To qualify for the program, participants must live in Stockton between the ages of 15 and 22.
