FAMILY FESTIVAL IS NEXT FRIDAY!
The Laguna Blanca Family Festival is coming up on Friday, October 21! This is our biggest all-school event celebrating students, faculty & staff, and our parents! We need a ton of volunteers to make it a great success for our kids. There are supporting tasks large and small, before, during, or after the event.
Bring the entire family to our beautiful campus and celebrate our Laguna community. Please sign up to volunteer by clicking here. We need Class Station Captains and more.
We are grateful for your early support and commitment to making a true difference in the educational experiences of today's Laguna students. Thank you for going ALL IN for Laguna Blanca!

HUMANITIES RESEARCH STUDENTS HEAD TO LA TO EXPLORE THEATRE, FILM, AND TELEVISION
By Eleanor Crafton '25

Last Wednesday (10/5), the Humanities Research Program (HRP) sophomore and junior classes spent the day in LA, exploring the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and the School of Theater, Film, and Television (TFT) at UCLA.

“With many first-year students in HRP interested in film and even pursuing careers in filmmaking, we decided to kick the year off by taking film as the first slice of the humanities to explore,” said Dr. Tidey. “And there’s no better place than LA to do that.”
UPPER SCHOOL SUPPORT FROM SCHOOL COUNSELOR KIM VALENTINE
When asked what parents want most for their children, the most common answer is, “I want my child to be happy.” Of course we do! In order for children to be happy in childhood and into their adult years and to recognize joy and satisfaction, they must also experience disappointment, failure, frustration, and even anger.

In our role as educators and parents, we can model regulation of these uncomfortable and temporary feelings. Chances are you learned life lessons through frustration, failure, or even loss. So, what can we do as trusted adults in their lives to nurture the roots of happiness in our children and students?

LAGUNA BLANCA GIRLS TENNIS WINS 10-8 AGAINST PROVIDENCE
By Dennis Moran, Noozhawk Correspondent

Laguna Blanca sophomore Caroline Kenny swept her singles sets by scores of 6-0, 6-2, 6-0 to help the Owls turn the tables over Providence at home Tuesday with a 10-8 win.

Sophomore Jinling Wang won two of her three sets for Laguna Blanca, and the doubles team of senior Katherine Ball and junior Grace Trautwein swept 6-3, 6-4, 6-1.

“After losing to Providence 10-8 the first time, it was great to see how hard the girls worked to turn that around and get the win,” Owls coach Santiago Segovia said. “It was also great to get Siena Wyatt '25 back on the court for the first time after she got hurt at the beginning of the season.”

GO OWLS!
LAGUNA BLANCA GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CLINCHES FRONTIER LEAGUE TITLE WITH A 3-1 WIN AGAINST THACHER
By Dennis Moran, Noozhawk Correspondent

Laguna Blanca clinched the Frontier League title Tuesday, remaining undefeated with a 3-1 win at home against Thacher. The Owls lost the first set and then swept the next three on scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-15.

Lola Hall '23 and Sarah Woodhouse '24 led the way with 13 kills apiece. Hall added four aces and Woodhouse eight digs. Natalie had five kills, seven digs, three aces “and a great night passing in serve receive,” Laguna Blanca Coach Jason Donnelly said.

Danica Rux '25 had four kills.

“We let a large lead slip away in the first set and had to regroup a little bit,” Donnelly said. “We were able to steady out, particularly behind the serving of Lola Hall, Natalie Bianchi '24, and Danica Rux. They each had great runs from the service line that allowed us to separate.”

The Owls are 7-0 in Frontier League play with a match remaining against Dunn on Thursday for Senior Night at home. They are 12-3 overall.

“It’s great for these girls to win a league title,” Donnelly said. “They’ve worked hard for it, and are looking forward to honoring our seniors on Thursday and continuing to prepare for the upcoming CIF playoffs.”
