Donate to a Local High School in Ghana!
In 2022, LRCCD sent over 30 administrators, faculty, and staff, including our Chancellor, to the All African Diaspora Educators Summit in Ghana. It was a huge success, and to continue the momentum to bring African-centered education to our classrooms, LRCCD has agreed again to send staff, faculty, and administrators to continue this work. This year's summit will occur from September 25 - October 6, 2024, at the University of Ghana.
Those participating in the summit will donate supplies to a local high school in Ghana; your participation and support are crucial for the success of this initiative. Cosumnes River College President Ed Bush is the summit's chair and hopes that this summit will bring long-term collaboration to our students.
Some recommended items:
Pens ▪ Pencils ▪ Rulers ▪ Erasers ▪ Highlighters ▪ Post-it notes ▪ Small scissors ▪ 3x5 cards ▪ Markers ▪ Scotch-like tape ▪ Small staplers and staples ▪ Paper clips
No donation is too small.

Latinx, Chicanx, Hispanic Heritage Month | |
Each year, from September 15 to October 15, we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring the rich histories, vibrant cultures, and significant contributions of Americans with ancestry from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
It is a month of immense pride for Latin America as several nations commemorate their hard-fought independence. This month marks the independence anniversaries of:
September 15: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica
September 16: Mexico
September 18: Chile
September 21: Belize
Each of these countries shares a unique story of struggle and triumph, but what unites the communities together is the enduring spirit and legacy of freedom. This is a time to reflect on the values of independence, celebrate the rich cultural heritage, and honor the sacrifices made by those who fought for the liberty cherished today.
