Pennsylvania has seen a surge of avian influenza cases in the first week of March, with USDA confirming the disease in six flocks. Lancaster has the largest flocks, two 20,000-bird turkey farms and a breeding farm with 6,500 ducks. A new $550 Million Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking program will invest in America and expedite investments to reduce pollution in disadvantage communities. EPA intends to award up to 11 cooperative agreements under this RFA for up to approximately $50M each to be funded incrementally over a 3-year period. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2023.
