Dear Rising Tide Students and Families,
Thanks to the many students and families who came to our STEM Night last week, and to our Math & Computer Science and Science faculty members for putting together an evening of exploration.
Next week begins the spring MCAS testing season. Our students in grade 10 will participate in two sessions of the English Language Arts (ELA) MCAS test next Tuesday and Wednesday. In early April, students in grades 5-8 will participate in the ELA MCAS test. In late April, grade 8 students will participate in the Civics Field MCAS test. In May, students in grades 5-8 will participate in the Mathematics MCAS test, and students in grades 5 and 8 will participate in the Science MCAS test. In early June, students in the Upper School who have not yet taken a High School Science MCAS test, mostly in grade 9, will participate in the Science MCAS test.
At Rising Tide, our courses are aligned with the MA Curriculum Frameworks in addition to our own Schoolwide Objectives in Benchmark Skills. We believe that we can push our students to think, give them practice to develop skills, and provide opportunities for them to deepen their understandings while also preparing them for success on these statewide tests that ask students to demonstrate their progress on standards of the MA Curriculum Frameworks. We ask that at home you help your children to get a good night's sleep before the scheduled test sessions, and encourage them to do their best to show how much they have been learning this year.
Have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
