Pathways event shows schools forging toward new future in theological
education

New resource will aid accreditation liaison officers in their work
To support accreditation liaison officers (ALOs) in their important work—and chief academic officers, too, as this work belongs to that role in many schools—ATS recently created a dedicated Canvas site called “ALO/CAO Orientation,” which can be found on the ATS website under “Accreditation” in the main menu. Lake Institute offers Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship 
The Lake Institute on Faith & Giving is offering PhD students the opportunity to apply for the 2024-2025 Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, worth $25,000. The Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship supports the last year of dissertation research that engages issues within religion and philanthropy or faith and giving. Students representing all fields of study are encouraged to apply. The link to the application, along with more information regarding the fellowship, can be found on the Lake Institute website. Applications are now being accepted until January 31, 2024.
Wabash Center offers grants for teaching and learning initiatives
The Wabash Center is offering grants of up to $30,000 for scholars to explore teaching and learning initiatives related to either communal care and connection or social justice and civic engagement. Saint Paul School of Theology
Saint Paul School of Theology received a grant of $1,065,405 from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help establish the Pause/Play Center for Preachers. The program is being funded through the Endowment’s Compelling Preaching Initiative, which aims to foster and support preaching that inspires, encourages, and guides people to come to know and love God and to live out their Christian faith more fully. The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS) is a membership organization of graduate theological schools. ATS Programs and Services offers educational events and resources to assist member schools with best practices, development of peer networks, production of research, and exploration of data. The Commission on Accrediting of ATS accredits the schools and approves the degree programs.
