Dear Families of the MS 104 Community:

Happy Wednesday! I hope this message finds everyone doing well. At the start of the school year I announced that Ms. Lyndsay Boelsen was named Interim Acting Assistant Principal. I am now excited to announce that she has been fully appointed to the position. In her short time in this role, Ms. Boelsen has demonstrated the leadership, instructional and staff support, and family outreach that is needed to serve our community, all while centering the progress and well-being of our students She is a true asset to our school and most deserving of this appointment. I hope you will join me in congratulating Ms. Boelsen on this professional milestone.

I also want to take a moment to congratulate and celebrate the cast and tech crew of Annie Jr. on their wonderful performances last week. Each year, I find myself in admiration of the students in our performing arts programs. Being on stage in front of hundreds of people is no easy feat, yet our students consistently treat our community to high quality performances. All of this is supported by our student led tech crews who work to design sets, organize costumes, and work on sound, lighting, and set transitions during the performances. This is a true testament to the hard work of all students involved. I am proud of each and every one of them. It also illustrates that when students are guided by caring and enthusiastic educators and supportive families, guardians, and loved ones, amazing things are possible. Kudos on a job very well done! I look forward to Mr. Ko's annual spring musical extravaganza in May!

Please see some updates and announcements below.

Have a great rest of the day!

Sincerely,

Rocco Macri, Principal

As falls turns to winter, its time for our annual Brrr-uch Spirit Week. This is a week that allows students and staff to have a bit of fun as we head in to the holiday break. Beginning Monday, December 18th, each day of the week will be marked by a different theme. Students and staff are encouraged to dress in attire related to the theme of the day. The theme days are as follows:

Monday, 12/18- Pajama Day

Tuesday, 12/19- Twin Day

Wednesday, 12/20- Sports Jersey Day

Thursday, 12/21- Dress Like a Teacher or Student Day

Friday, 12/22- Cozy Sweater Day

In addition, we will have our indoor winter student celebration on Tuesday, December 19th. Each grade will be treated to a variety of fun activities in our cafeteria and gymnasium for ninety minutes each. There will be two photo booths, a DJ, arts and crafts, and table top and large games for students to enjoy. As always, events such as these require much support for our families in order to facilitate a safe and structured day. I hope that you will consider volunteering some of your time to help us provide our students the best and safest possible celebration possible.
