Fontanero interchange on Interstate 25

changes name to Centennial

Overnight interchange closure on Thursday, Dec. 7

The Interstate 25 (I-25) exit at Fontanero Street will change its name to Centennial Boulevard, reflecting the City of Colorado Springs' extension of the roadway during a recently-completed project.

The I-25 sign work at the new Centennial (formerly Fontanero) interchange is expected to be performed during the evening hours on Thursday, Dec. 7, for the installation of new signage panels and overhang structures. Daytime work to complete the operation will occur Tuesday, Dec. 5 and Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Traffic Impacts and detours include:

• Exit closure northbound and southbound I-25 at the Centennial (formerly Fontanero) interchange, overnight Thursday, Dec. 7, 8 p.m. - Friday, Dec. 8, 5 a.m.
• Right lane closure northbound I-25 at Uintah Street, overnight Thursday, Dec. 7, 8 p.m. - Friday, Dec. 8, 5 a.m.

Detours:

• Detour for northbound I-25 at Centennial (formerly Fontanero) interchange: North to Fillmore Street, west to Chestnut Street.
• Detour for southbound I-25 at Centennial (formerly Fontanero) interchange: South to Uintah Street, west to North Walnut Street, north to Chestnut Street to Fillmore Street and I-25.

Other Impacts:

• Shoulder closures northbound and southbound I-25 at the Centennial (formerly Fontanero) interchange Tuesday, Dec. 5 through Thursday, Dec. 7.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
