Farm School Reflections: Student Volunteers

There's no better way to kick off Back-to-School season than an afternoon at the Farm School, and BFS has many volunteer opportunities for students. If you know someone looking to get involved in the community while spending time outdoors, volunteering at BFS might just be a perfect place for them. Student volunteers at BFS gain valuable insight into the joy of community-led work and the importance of regenerative farming practices. And working in the rows with our wonderful community is a lot of fun! This week, high school student Laurie shares a little bit about what spending time at BFS means to her. Thank you, Laurie, for all you do for the Farm School and for telling us about your experience.

Visit the Farm Stand on Saturdays and Wednesdays

Join BFS's Community Compost Program

BFS's Compost Crew works in all seasons to turn food scraps into compost. This compost nourishes BFS's crops and also gets turned into Worm Tea, a nutrient-dense "drink" for crops, flowers, and other plants. If you'd like to learn more or join the Compost Crew, check out the Community Compost Program page. Or

visit the Farm School on Sunday, August 29 at 9 a.m. or Wednesday, August 31 at 3:15 p.m. and join the composting effort. No experience necessary!
