Reducing Your Carbon Footprint Has Never Been Easier Thanks to Renewable Choice!

Are you interested in being more sustainable and supporting clean energy? Then we have the perfect program for you! RMLD’s voluntary Renewable Choice program is a great option for customers who wish to support additional renewable energy resources above and beyond RMLD’s annual non-carbon energy targets. And the best part is that no equipment is required, and all you have to do is sign up!

There are three participation options. Customers can choose to contribute at a level that brings their monthly electricity usage to 50%, 75%, or 100% renewable/non-carbon.

Shred the Peak: Help Us Reach Our Goal!

Shred the Peak is a voluntary customer program that encourages conservation during peak times to control related costs and keep rates affordable. RMLD issues Shred the Peak alerts to notify customers when a peak is predicted and asks customers to take simple steps to conserve electricity during the predicted peak window.

The more customers who sign up, the more energy we conserve to help us maintain our lower electricity rates. We're currently at 62 percent of our annual goal for signups. Do your part to sign up for alerts to help us get there!

About RMLD
RMLD is one of 41 public power utilities in Massachusetts and is not-for-profit, locally owned, and locally controlled. RMLD serves Reading, North Reading, Wilmington, and Lynnfield Center.

A five-member Board of Commissioners, elected by Reading voters, governs the utility. A Citizens’ Advisory Board, appointed by the four communities RMLD serves, makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. Meetings are posted on RMLD's events calendar.

Board of Commissioner meetings are broadcast live on RCTV, and the recordings are shared with the other community TV stations. Meeting recordings can also be found on RCTV and RMLD YouTube Channels.
