Technology Updates:

What is ClassLink?

Starting this school year, we are using a new single sign-on portal (ClassLink) to access most of our online resources. Items you accessed through Clever and NCEdCloud will now be accessible through ClassLink.

Training will take place at your schools during the teacher work days.

Please bookmark this page to access ClassLink.

One other change taking place is a 2-step process for resetting student NCEdCloud Passwords to match their new ClassLink Password (aka the “Digital Key”). The 2-step process can be found here and this can be done at any time before students return. Please share this information with your colleagues.

CCS 2022-23 Student/Parent Handbook - Staff Information

NEWS ALERT!

The CCS 2022-23 Student/Parent Handbook has undergone some major restructuring!  We have condensed it to be a little more user-friendly.  Starting this year, every student is to receive a copy of the handbook, which contains the required parent signature page that is to be returned to the student’s school.  Teachers are responsible for collecting these forms from all students whose parent/guardian has not completed the online annual update for PowerSchool and turn them into the school data manager.  In turn, the school data manager is expected to enter the information in PowerSchool so everyone at the school is aware of who doesn’t have the authorization (release of directory information, Media release, etc.)

Schools are expected to distribute the handbooks and make students and parents aware of the information and expectations. The handbook directs stakeholders to the district website for any needed policies, as this is where the most up-to-date adoptions are housed. The CCS 2022-23 Student/Parent Handbook is also available on the CCS district website under Students & Families > Student/Parent Handbook 2022-2023.  The online version includes links to the policies and areas of the website with more detailed information.

Our goal is to have these delivered to the schools during the workdays so preparations can be made for beginning of year informational packets.

School Field Trips

Please ensure you are aware of all requirements when planning a field trip. Check with the administrator of your school who is responsible for approving field trips if you have initial questions before submitting any documents to the Curriculum and Instruction Division. This will help prevent forms from being returned and the review process being delayed. Use the checklist to help ensure you fully complete the process.

All needed instructions and forms are on the Craven County Schools website, which you can locate using the following steps:

Log in to the district website > Staff Resources > Forms > Field Trip Checklist -Start Here

Please ensure you meet the deadlines as stated and that all required documents are accurately completed and included when you submit the field trip packet. Please do not submit separate documents. Requests that miss the deadline will not be considered unless it is due to late notification from the host site or the trip is based on progression through rounds of competition.
