The International Association for Women’s Mental Health (IAWMH) is very pleased to welcome you to the 9th IAWMH World Congress on Women’s Mental Health in the historical city of Maastricht with a blend of old traditions and rich and vibrant Dutch culture.
This World Congress is an exciting time for the IAWMH as we continue to grow and provide advocacy for women’s mental health and support innovation for clinicians and researchers working in these fields. Our association is dedicated to raising global awareness about the special issues that women face with adverse impacts on mental health. Throughout the world, especially during this pandemic, women face daunting challenges and confronting mental ill health can be a time of hope or else a devastating experience if proper care and understanding are not available.
Our program with 6 plenary lectures, 32 symposia, 11 workshops and 12 oral presentation sessions will be a combination of neuroscience, psychosocial and environmental presentations that are highly relevant to womens' mental health and treatments for mental illnesses. During the congress we encourage our participants to share experiences as well as enjoy Dutch hospitality. Our best young colleagues will receive poster awards during the closing ceremony.
With our Dutch colleagues, we hope that the 9th World Congress of the IAWMH will enrich you all and will be an unforgettable experience.
With my best personal regards,
Prof Florence Thibaut
IAWMH President
