YOUTH SPOTLIGHT | LUIS CERVANTES
Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized? Nominate a Youth Spotlight Here

Not every 17-year-old student is fascinated by velocity, physics, and math that can relate to real-world opportunities, but then there's Luis Cervantes. This month's youth spotlight is not your average junior at Eagle Valley High School; Luis is a driven scholar with an outgoing personality and a social nature. Here at Mountain Youth, we're lucky enough to get to work with Luis! Serving as a Youth Apprentice through Careerwise, Luis is excelling in his self-imposed challenges of project management, communication, and leadership.
DIFFERENCE MAKERS | JENNIFER KENNEDY
Do you know someone who is making a difference in the community and deserves to be recognized? Nominate a Difference Maker Here

What fills your soul? For Jennifer Kennedy, owner of Dewey Dabbles, art fills her soul. Within a few minutes of speaking with her, you can sense her passion.

Jennifer was hooked on art after taking her first art class at Anderson Ranch 19 years ago. She discovered a second home at her neighbor's art studio after volunteering and bringing her adopted preteens after arriving in the Valley over a decade ago. After falling in love with the business, she jumped at the first chance to buy her neighbor's and has never looked back.

VALLEY'S VOICE
Project season has arrived for Valley’s Voice! Our middle school group has spent the last two weeks identifying groups that might need some more ‘care’ in their life- and what small items we could give them that might provide some support. At our next meeting on Feb 13th, Valley's Voice Middle School will be making “Kind Kits” and distributing them to different resource outlets for folks who will appreciate the thought and work that the middle schoolers put into these boxes of items.

High School Valley’s Voice continues to grind out what projects for the community would make the greatest impact and how those Passion Projects can get started the smoothest. They have also begun to create project proposals for the Shared Risk and Protective Conference in Keystone June 1-3. This conference offers a space for youth and adults to share protective factors/projects that have been successful or attempted in their community- folks statewide will be there. It will be an excellent opportunity for our High Schoolers to build a network and see what’s up with other communities. Two event opportunities are approaching! Middle School Open Gym Night and High School Bowling night are on the horizon and soon to start filling up. Check our website for more!
