Dear Miramonte Community, | |
Today marks the halfway point of the 1st Quarter, and progress grade reports will be sent electronically through Parent Square next Friday, September 20th. In preparation, please take some time next week to review your child’s Canvas account. This will give you a clearer understanding of the grades they will receive and can open up valuable conversations about their successes and challenges so far.
Additionally, please ask your child how they are making use of Academy time on Wednesdays and Fridays. Students should be "tagging" themselves into the classes where they need extra support or are facing difficulties. Academy provides two hours each week for students to seek help from teachers, catch up on assignments, study for exams, and complete missed work.
Next week is Homecoming Week! Our Leadership Class is putting on dress up days, activities, and the annual Homecoming Rally on Friday. Friday evening is the Homecoming Game against Benecia and then the Homecoming Dance is Saturday evening at Miramonte. Please encourage your child to participate in these events and join in on the fun next week!
Have a wonderful weekend and hope to see you tonight at our home football game against Carmel Valley starting at 7:00pm! Go Mats!

Unfortunately, donations to ONE-Miramonte are down this year when compared to last school year. We need every family to contribute to ONE-Miramonte to ensure we can meet our obligations to our students in the 24-25 school year. If you haven’t made a donation yet this year, please do so today.

Junior Parent Presentation: Looking Toward College, September 18 at 6:30pm, Miramonte Theater. This presentation is for junior class parents and guardians. This week in Wellness, we invited all 10th grade HSD classes to attend a presentation about Wellness services and resources. Students participated in a scavenger hunt throughout the center to personally explore what is offered. This spring we will invite the second semester HSD classes to attend as well. Here is a link to the presentation
September is Suicide Prevention Month. Next week, Wellness will be tabling on the quad with information about suicide prevention and awareness. Suicide is preventable and this takes frank and open conversations. Know the signs, breathe, find the words and reach out. We will be discussing each of these as we talk to your students. As always, please reach out if you have questions.

Schedule Changes
The deadline to drop a class without it appearing on your transcript is October 11.
Seniors
- Counselors are beginning to meet individually with seniors to discuss post-high school plans!
- If your senior is applying to college, they can begin requesting transcripts via MaiaLearning.
- Please have your student contact their counselor immediately if they are applying EA or ED to a school.
- Consider attending the Academy college application workshops in the College and Career Center. Students can sign up using TeachMore.
Students who received a D, F, NC, or NP in a graduation required course should contact their counselor to see if they are eligible for remediation through a FuelEd course. Remediation is important if your student wants to maintain UC/CSU eligibility.
Cal Grant gives funds to every eligible senior who meets the requirements. AUHSD will electronically submit information for every senior in the district to the California Student Aid Commission so they may be considered for a Cal Grant. If you do not wish to have your student’s information submitted electronically, please complete the opt-out form with our school registrar, Kyley Jacobs, by September 27.
CSF
California Scholarship Federation (CSF) registration is now open. CSF is an honor club at Miramonte that acknowledges the high academic achievement of students. Eligibility is determined through a point system based on the last semester’s course load and specific semester grades. Fill out the application on the webstore to determine if you are eligible. Registration is open from Sept. 10th- Sept. 30th.
Email Sylvie Shawn with any questions or if you need a fee waiver. To fill out the application and pay the dues click here.
