Spearheaded nationally by Keep America Beautiful, the Great American Cleanup® unifies and beautifies communities across the country in a grassroots spring-cleaning movement.
Our local Great American Cleanup - Green Up & Clean Up offers many opportunities to organize groups and participate in safe, outdoor activities to make tangible improvements in Martin County.

House of Hope Gleaning

Western Palm City
Gleaning is harvesting the produce remaining after a field has been professionally picked. Once harvested, the produce is distributed to House of Hope pantries instead of being plowed back into the soil. Volunteer support is essential.

City of Stuart Composting Workshop
April 17, 2024
6 pm – 7 pm
Learn how to compost your veggie and yard scraps and turn it into nutrients for your lawn or garden! Composting reduces the need for fertilizers and pesticides, cuts down on the amount of trash in the landfill, and reduces the costs of carbon emissions.
Although composting equipment is only available to City of Stuart Customers, the workshops are open to the entire County.

Hazardous Waste Collection
It's the perfect time for some spring cleaning! The HazMobile provides a safe and convenient way for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste.
Martin County residents may bring up to 100 pounds of household hazardous waste to the Mobile Household Hazardous Waste Collection Vehicle "HazMobile" for FREE disposal. Residents can also bring their Hazardous Waste to the disposal center in Palm City.

Adoption Programs:
Adopt-A-Road
Our Adopt-A-Road programs offers businesses, civic groups, school groups, places of worship, families, and individuals the opportunity to adopt a section of county-maintained roadside for the purpose of litter reduction.
Teams make a commitment to remove litter along their adopted area at least six times a year. We provide safety vests, trash bags, and pick-up sticks.
