Summer 2024

Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF) has been very busy this summer getting ready to reopen its store for personal shopping appointments. After taking a brief pause the past month to reorganize the store for the fall, CTKF is resuming appointments on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. With the help of one of our trained volunteer personal shoppers, low-income and in-crisis children in grades K-12 can choose a wardrobe of shirts, pants, sweaters, dresses, new underwear and socks, a pair of shoes, a jacket, and accessories that fit just right. We love seeing the smiles on their faces and know they will feel confident as they head back to school.

Compassionate donors like you have made CTKF's life-changing work possible! Your monetary and clothing donations keep our store full of wonderful clothing for children who are desperately in need. The families that reach out to CTKF for help cannot afford to provide their children with new clothing for the new school year. Your support is vital to the success of the CTKF mission, and has the power to change so many lives for the better. Please consider a monetary donation.

  • $50 provides new underwear and new socks for 2 children
  • $150 provides a full week’s wardrobe for one child
  • $250 provides new sneakers for 10 children
  • $500 provides new winter jackets, hats, and gloves for 10 children

Any and every amount is welcomed and greatly appreciated!

Stamford Twins Sell Lemonade to Benefit CTKF

Sophie and Kayla, 8-year-old twins from Stamford, are setting a powerful example of community spirit. Each summer, they run a lemonade stand to support local causes, and this year they’ve chosen Clothes to Kids of Fairfield County. Moved by the organization’s mission to "clothe a kid, change a life," they are contributing to provide clothing that fosters confidence and independence for children in need. Their dedication highlights how small acts of kindness can lead to significant change. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to giving back and the positive impact they’re making in our community, one cup of lemonade at a time.

Greystar Gives Back

A big thank you to Greystar Apartments in Stamford for organizing a clothing drive for CTKF this summer. The residents generously donated two carloads of clothing, and have started a new drive for backpacks and school supplies which will help us prepare well for the back-to-school season.

Interns Make An Impact

CTKF hosted two college interns this summer in partnership with the Alumni Career Initiative of Waterside School in Stamford. Ali and Valeria worked with us for 5 weeks learning about all aspects of running a nonprofit and helping us with our website, social media, client appointments, volunteering partnerships and transitioning the store for the fall. We are grateful for their help and wish them all the best at school and with their future careers. CTKF welcomes students to volunteer with us throughout the year.

CTKF's Volunteer Michael Shares His Experience

"Volunteering at Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF) these past four years has been amazing. When CTKF moved locations, I began by helping to set up the new store. Watching it take shape, I could see that I was making a difference. CTKF helped me gain an appreciation for volunteering and I love the feeling of helping others. One of the reasons I keep volunteering is seeing children picking out their own clothes and walking out of the store with smiles on their faces. With the world always in need of more good, I love being able to help out with such an impactful organization."

Thank you, Michael. CTKF appreciates all of your hard work the past 4 years! Good luck at Yale!
