Hello HVS Sports News Fans,

The Winter Sports Season has come to an end! Special thanks to all the coaches and players for giving it your all this season. I’m proud of all of you!

It’s now time to gear up for the Spring Sports Season - Boys Volleyball, Gift Softball, and Track & Field. If your student is interested in participating, please take a moment to fill out the HVS Athletics: Spring Sports 2023-2024 Google Form. On Wednesday, February 28, during the Middle School Lunch, I’m holding a Spring Sports Talk near the Gym to answer students’ questions about each sport. I also encourage you to review our HVS Athletics Handbook and HVS Athletics Program Website, which are updated regularly to inform you about the latest happenings. 

Lastly, if you haven’t already heard, Hermosa Valley is having its first Surf Team! We are looking for students who love the ocean, are serious about taking their surf skills to the next level, and want to be part of a supportive team. Our goal is to help transition students onto a high school surf team. Middle school students must submit a Surf Team Application for this thrilling opportunity by Thursday, February 29. Completed applications should be emailed to me at nvasquez@hbcsd.org or dropped off at the Valley Front Office. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants will invited to come out to the In-Water Tryouts on Sunday, March 3, at 8:30 AM. We can't wait to build an incredible HVS Surf Team and see the talent and passion our middle school students bring to the waves!
