The State Archives & APT are on the road with the original papers found on British Major John Andre at the time of his capture by the Americans during the Revolutionary War.


Together with Revolutionary Westchester 250, and the Poncantico Center, join us for the opening of a special exhibit titled: Treason of the Blackest Dye, the True Story of Arnold, André, and the Three Honest Militiamen on September 25, 2024.

Albany Book Festival at SUNYAlbany

Come support the New York State Writers Institute at their annual Albany Book Festival on September 21st at SUNYAlbany. APT's very own board member and Lincoln scholar Harold Holzer will be there to discuss his latest book, Brought Forth on this Continent: Lincoln and American Immigration. See you there!

John Hart


John Hart, a former intern at the APT and now a social studies teacher at Guilderland, knows the value of primary sources in historical education.


His experience at the Trust has given him unique insights into how primary documents can bring history to life for students.
