Transition Update

Thank you to everyone who attended the parish meeting last Sunday. It was a great success with lots of input for the profile process. Canon Dena will be back with us on Sunday, April 28th for a congregational conversation. There will be one service that day with the brunch and meeting to follow.

After the meeting on the 28th, the profile team will begin their work in earnest. As soon as the profile is complete, hopefully, by around the end of May to the middle of June, Trinity’s vacancy will be posting to the online clergy forums and job vacancies to which our Diocese subscribes. Canon Dena also advertises our opening at all the clergy deployment meetings she attends.

Here is the profile team, as appointed by the vestry: Cathi Beattie, team lead; Donna Blue-Tobin; Rob Duncanson; Kelley Elderkin; Amy Umstadter.

As I mentioned last Sunday, Canon Dena is hard at work for us, as is the Bishop. They have our back. In the meantime, we couldn’t be in better hands with Mother Susan walking through this interim with us. Keep up the prayers. They will be answered.

Easter Flowers

If you like to dedicate Easter memorial flowers, here is the form to fill out and turn in. You may place it in the collection plate or hand it to one of the ushers. The deadline for your Easter flower dedication to make it into the Easter Sunday program is Sunday, March 24th. Please try to get it in before that. The altar guild always ensures the altar and the church are beautifully decorated for Easter, and that is thanks to all of us who place Easter memorials. Thank you.

This month’s Pathways to Healing: Stations of the Cross Saturday at 10:00 am.

The Stations of the Cross is a powerful way to contemplate and enter into the mystery of Jesus’s gift of himself to us. As we journey around the church, a sort of walking meditation occurs—one that touches the senses. We feel the floor under our feet. We see the stations that depict the hours surrounding the crucifixion. We hear the words spoken to and by Jesus. We reach into our hearts to find our own responses. Getting out of our heads and into the immediacy of the service is one way to find healing.

Please contact Cathi Beattie (csbeattie@yahoo.com), Katie Mohn, (katemohn@hotmail.com) or Nancy St.Germain (nstgerma5971@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

Last Sunday's Sermon

By Mother Susan

What does it mean to say we are saved by the power of the cross? How does the hateful, cruel, violent cross of crucifixion show the power of God? These are questions we struggle with, and most often, as we journey toward Jerusalem during Lent. We know, somehow, we are saved, brought back into relationship with God through the cross but it’s hard to reconcile a loving, forgiving, almighty God with the violence of the cross.

Living Stones Date Change

Due to a scheduling conflict on my part, the March Living Stones seminar is being moved from Sunday 3/17 to Sunday 3/24 between the services in the usual place. Sunday 3/24 is Palm Sunday; I have checked with Mother Susan and she has no problem with the change.
