Hello Steve, Enjoy our Saints News!

HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSING

The countdown begins! We’re only 29 days away from our 25th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, February 24th, what we’re calling 1998 REMIX. Enjoy great food and drink at The Hythe, all kinds of 1990s shenanigans, and live music from Colorado’s favorite band – The Samples. It is sure to be a SOLD OUT event.

I believe God loves celebrations – a good party. Holy Scripture is full of them. And that’s what we’ll be doing – celebrating 25 VCHS years of God’s faithfulness and blessings. We’ll do it by going back to the way life was in the 1990s – the years when VCHS was envisioned and founded. And every dollar raised that night will have a direct impact on today’s students and teachers and for those who join us in the years to come.

We’ve identified several capital projects and items outside what tuition would normally cover that will significantly enhance the VCHS student experience. With our campus, we have three priorities – 1) a new Counseling Center on the lower level of the West Building to support student mental health and well-being, 2) a Student Enrichment Center – remodeling the current Senior Lounge to become a 9th-12th grade multi-purpose space for college admission representative, guest speakers, potential student entrepreneurship opportunities (i.e., school store, coffee bar, etc.), and study/classroom area, and 3) Go Green initiatives including rooftop solar panels and updated LED interior and exterior lighting that will reduce our energy bills.

REMIX will also support 1) the purchase of two passenger vans, similar to the one we purchased last winter – giving us more flexibility with student travel and reducing our dependence on hiring bus drivers, and 2) teacher affordable housing initiative, teacher professional development, and student scholarships. So how can you support all of this?

First, buy your tickets today! You’ll enjoy a great meal and drinks, with great company, enjoy The Samples live, and have a ton of fun. Second, consider being a sponsor or underwriting a part of 1998 REMIX. Thank you to everyone who has already made that commitment.

Finally, I want to thank our parent and staff planning team – Chairs Jenn Bruno and Tracy Chester, along with Corinne Ackerman, Yulia Soto, Lolly Becker, Heidi Cofelice, Wendy Greshko, Brenda Hawkins, Elisse Kelley, LaRae Keyes, Meggen Kirkham, Nikki Kohrmann, Shannon O'Brien, Kristin Pryor, Elaine Schoch, Jackie Watters, Kris Wittenberg, and Rhonda Woodruff. The time, energy, and creativity they’ve already put into planning over the last many months has been outstanding!

Mark your calendars for February 24th, and get your tickets now as prices will increase soon. Let’s Go Saints…Let’s party like it’s 1998!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Throughout SoulCare week, January 29th - February 2nd, students will engage in a variety of Christian Spiritual Practices with the intention to connect to ourselves and Christ. Each practice is based on a scripture with steps that help quiet our minds and open our hearts to an invitation that God may be offering to us. This week is about engaging with God, and considering that he calls us The Beloved. It is a week to be curious about who He is and how that helps me know who I am.

Attendance at SoulCare Week Practices is Mandatory

Juniors & Seniors will not have time to leave campus all week so please bring a lunch or pre-purchase meals from Rustic Farm to Fork
