During a conversation with him, one of the gods reveals themselves to him, and he sets out on a journey to meet the goddess Artemis. When he meets and falls in love with her, she runs away. He sets on a journey through the rest of the show to find her. Is he able to find her?

Ignite The Mic is the longest running poetry organization in Central Louisiana, and the number one gathering place for artists and lovers of the arts. Ignite The Mic Alexandria is a local and privately funded creative initiative centered around unity, inclusion, diversity, and healing through the arts. We believe poetry can be used to create a healthy dialogue about issues, often deemed taboo to discuss. We strive to create an understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives by cultivating and amplifying creative voices. The purpose of this event is to promote the creation and performance of art that engages communities and provides a platform for artistic voices to be heard uncensored.
Poets, singers, musicians, and more: the stage is yours! Want to sign up to showcase your talent? We'd love to have you. Contact: 318.769.9903

Gallery One Elllven
111 3rd St., Leesville, LA
On display through April 22
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
GALLERY ONE EIIIEVEN in Leesville is pleased to announce their third exhibit of the year, featuring three notable artists from Shreveport. Uriah Oxford, Michael Miller and Lauren Ross Simmons will display their large, colorful abstract works in the gallery in the Leesville Historic District. There will be a reception for the artists on April 8 at 6:00.
Uriah Oxford produces large paintings composed of a myriad of small items and objects that create a pleasing flow across the canvas. Michael Miller will exhibit works that play with simple and common themes from a dissociative and playful perspective. The heavily painted surfaces demand physical presence, encouraging the viewer to engage with the work in a way that is all too often missing in an era where most paintings are seen through photos on screens. Lauren Ross Simmons relies on pop culture and fashion images, past and present to populate her colorful canvases.
This exhibit is sponsored by Barksdale Federal Credit Union, who have been generous sponsors of the Arts in Vernon Parish for over 15 years.
