Save the Date - GLOW BALL DANCE 2024

Save the date, and start practicing your dance moves! The Glow Ball Dance will take place on Saturday, February 24th, 5:30– 7:30 p.m. in the Franklin Elementary Gymnasium. Enjoy fun dance music in the light of glow bracelets!

Glow Ball Sewers Needed!

Looking for sewers!

Our annual Glow Ball is scheduled for February 24th and we are looking for sewers to help make the Franklin/Randall fleece hats that kids love during the event. We're hoping to get enough sewers to have two shifts of 6-8 sewers each.

If you are interested, please email Caitlin Voegele (CaitlinEVoegele@gmail.com) & Mary Rihini (mbkrihani@gmail.com) with questions or grab a slot on the Glow Ball volunteer sign-up genius.

You will need to have access to your own sewing machine that you can bring for this event or we can help you find one!

Immunization Requirements for Student Entering Kindergarten in the Fall

As you prepare for next school year, your child may be in need of a physical exam and immunizations. The State of Wisconsin requires kindergarten students to be up to date with their DTaP, Polio, Measles, and Varicella vaccines. These can be obtained any time after your child turns 4 years of age. Now is the time to start scheduling those physicals for school entrance.

If your child does not have a heath care provider, you may be eligible to receive free services from Public Health Madison & Dane County. To determine if your child is eligible to receive vaccinations at the health department call Public Health Madison-Dane County at 608-242-6255 or visit

 https://publichealthmdc.com/health-services/immunizations/for-infants-children-teens

We are happy to announce that MMSD, in collaboration with Public Health Madison Dane County and area health care providers, will be hosting a free vaccine clinic:

  • Saturday, February 10th, 2024 & Saturday, May 11th, 2024
  • Holtzman Building, 333 Holtzman Road
  • From 10 am to 2 pm

Anyone who is uninsured or has Badgercare, Dean, GHC, or Quartz health insurance can attend. We encourage you to make an appointment for your child through this scheduling link PHMDC: https://phmdcvaccine.as.me/schedule.php?appointmentType=51150159

If you have questions or need assistance scheduling a vaccine appointment for February 10th or May 11th, please contact your child's school nurse.
