INTERESTED IN JOINING OUR CHURCH?
|
|
We are offering “Exploration of membership” classes on all things UMC of Geneva on two Sundays after worship in September.
“Pastries with the Pastors” will be offered in the church library for all who are interested, after worship THIS Sunday, September 11 and next Sunday, September 18 from 10:30-11:30am. We are happy to provide childcare if it is needed.
We would love for you to attend both meetings, as different information will be presented on each Sunday, and different church leaders will be available to speak about our church ministries.
Please let us know which date/s you are able to attend and if you have a particular ministry area you are interested in. We will invite that church leader to be present on your date/s.
After these meetings, you may choose to join as a member, or to just continue participating in our ministries. Either way, we are so glad you are here with us! Pastor Rob & Pastor Lisa

Musical talent is on regular display at UMCG. But we know there are many kinds of talent in our church family. What’s yours? We’d like to know!

Whatever your special talent, come strut your stuff at the first UMCG Talent Show on October 23, an event no one will want to miss! We’ll have a great time, raise some money for the operating budget, and enjoy some tasty desserts afterward.

This Fall remember to “Leave the Leaves!"
When the cooler weather comes, leave your whole leaves in flowerbeds and yards. Fallen leaves benefit the wildlife and the environment. The leaves provide natural mulch that will not only protect plants, but also break down to help fertilize the soil. Leaves also provide wildlife like turtles, toads, birds, mammals and snakes with shelter, nesting material and food during the winter. Help the garden bugs too, by keeping your leaves. Gnats, spiders and other beneficial bugs hide out in leaves along with moths and butterflies that winter as caterpillars or in cocoons. In the warm days of spring they all will emerge to benefit our gardens and feed the birds.
So this Fall leave the rake in the shed and the leaves on the ground!

Monthly meeting for Memory Loss Caregivers Group
|
Sixteen years ago, John Kemble asked the Pastor if it would be possible to form a group for persons whose loved ones were experiencing memory loss issues. The answer was "yes" and that group has been meeting monthly since that time.
Currently we gather in the Parlor on the 3rd Monday of every month at 10:00 AM. We are not experts on all aspects of memory loss illnesses, but we have become pretty good at "caring for the caregiver." If you or anyone you know is a caregiver of this type, please join us.
