Easter, Worship, Faith

As we journey through the season of Lent and anticipate the glorious celebration of Easter, many of us may feel drawn to worship and to look inward to examine our faith. This past Sunday I was again unable to attend church as the virus of the decade wasn't quite finished with me yet! So I scrolled through the TV guide and was pleasantly surprised to find a 2023 World Day of Prayer service on one of the channels. I settled in to watch it and I wasn't disappointed. I have always liked these services and appreciate the work of those putting them together. This year it was written by a committee of women from Taiwan. The theme was "I have heard about your Faith" based on Paul's letter to the Ephesians chapter 1:15,16. Taiwan is a small but dense island with only about 6% of the population being Christian. What an awesome feeling to participate in a service written by faraway Christians and adapted by churches all over the world. The inspiring words, the music, and the feeling of one-ness with fellow believers was a very good Sunday morning experience for me and an unexpected blessing. A powerful statement to share with each other: "I have heard about your faith".

For more information on the World Day of Prayer and the Women Inter-Church Council of Canada check the internet. The service is available on YouTube.

Happy Easter, everyone!
