Moms in Prayer:

A note from Monique Cooley, our current MIP coordinator:

Have you ever heard the expression, "All good things must come to an end?" Moms in Prayer is a very good thing! It does NOT have to come to an end! In the fall I will be joining the Moms in Prayer group at Unity Christian and that will leave an opening at OCCS for a MIP Leader. This will be hard for me as I will deeply miss the time I have been blessed to share with the moms I have prayed with over the last three school years at OCCS. We have sat shoulder to shoulder and across from one another and have asked God to hold our children, school, students and staff in His right hand for protection, provision, guidance, wisdom and His will to be done and He has answered in a great and powerful way. As moms we have prayed with confidence to help our children in every situation, no matter their age. We have learned to trust God more knowing that He ALWAYS cares and hears the cry of a mother's heart. So often when we meet together we arrive with a heavy heart, but because of the power of the Holy Spirit equipping us to intercede for our children and those around us, we can leave our time together with a profound sense of peace. MIP is driven by the love a mother has for her children. I have wholeheartedly embraced being a group leader. I will now be praying for a mom to step forward to have HER prayer life transformed and challenged and to engage in becoming an advocate for her children, OCCS and its students and staff through the power of prayer.

If you are a mom OR a grandma and believe that the Lord is prompting you by the Holy Spirit to lead MIP at OCCS for the 2024/2025 school year, please contact me, Monique Cooley, at (763-313-3497) or by email at mocooley124@gmail.com. I have all the resources your will need to help you get started in this most rewarding ministry. On an end note, I praise God for the moms who have faithfully prayed for their children and OCCS over the last three school years with me. I consider each one of you a dear sister in Christ.

Class assignments - due April 26

Class assignments will be made in May for the following school year. A committee will have the responsibility of determining class assignments. The committee will meet with teachers of each grade level in order to determine class assignments. Parental requests for particular classes will be accepted only if requested on this form and include the reason(s) for the request. Requests from parents will be given consideration as one of the many factors that help to determine class assignments. Factors the committee will consider in determining class assignments for students are:

1. Academic needs

2. Learning styles

3. Social needs

4. Distribution of boys/girls

5. Special needs

6. Church representation where possible

7. Written parental requests and reasons

After class assignments are made and published, the work of the committee is completed. However, parents who are not satisfied with class assignments may request to meet with the education committee to request a change in assignment. The decision of the education committee will be final.

If you have an enrollment change, please contact the office right away at office@orangecitychristian.net.  Thanks.

OCCS Office Closed:

The OCCS Office and the TRIP office will be closed on Friday, April 18 during the K-4 Musical from 9:00-10:30am.

K-4 musical, "The Amazing Grace Race":

The OCCS K-4 musical, “The Amazing Grace Race” will take off on April 18 at 7:00 pm and April 19 at 9:00 am, in the OCCS gym. K-4 will be reporting live from the scene with play by plays as they happen in real time. You won’t want to miss this group of runners running the race of life, following the trails that are full of twists and turns! The key to running the race successfully, following in His steps, will need to be taken to heart by everyone, even Spud, the “Couch Potato”! Come and be a part of the great cloud of witnesses as the kids are reminded that followers of Jesus don’t just sit on the sidelines but serve faithfully out of a grateful heart! A freewill offering will be taken.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” Hebrews 12:1-2
