We're looking for a doctor to travel to Haiti!
Are you a doctor, possibly retired, with a sense of adventure? Do you know of one? We are looking for a doctor to travel to our clinic in Haiti on a regular basis, perhaps once a month if possible. The purpose would be to improve policies and procedures in the medical clinic, to sharpen the skills of the doctors and nurses that are currently serving, and to provide help to our patients. There would also be the opportunity to do home visits within the local community as well as smaller villages in the area, as shown in the picture.
We are proud of our staff that works so hard to meet the needs of our patients day after day. We are looking for an opportunity to give them even more support. Sad news from one of our friends...
On October 27, we held a very successful fundraiser at Garland Mountain Sporting Clays, our fourth annual event. Some of you who are reading this newsletter were there. This is a beautiful venue, and the staff there has been very supportive of us and goes out of the way to help. Sadly, on November 3, the lodge at the facility burned to the ground. We hope and pray that the owners will be able to rebuild and recover quickly.
X-Ray System Update
Here's the latest news on our big campaign. As of this writing, we are at $51,214 toward our goal of $55,000. We have only $3,786 to go, but maybe we're already there! We are evaluating a system from a different manufacturer than the one we targeted. It is less expensive, but it may do the job for us. We're getting advice from someone with the skills to evaluate the two alternatives. We'll keep you posted!
