Hello First Presbyterian Church,

In this season of Eastertide, I hope you are experiencing resurrection hope and catching glimpses of new life all around you!

Here are a few ways we are leaning into hope together in community in the coming days:

1) Stop by the table in the Welcome Center after worship Sunday and pick out a piece of glass to add to our community art project!

2) Linger after worship and celebrate Virginia Maupin's 100th birthday in the Welcome Center!

3) RSVP for Sunday evening's dinner and brainstorming brigade if you haven't already. Together we will share our hopes for FPCR's future and discuss where we feel the Spirit leading us. Your presence and your voice matter! RSVP by clicking here

4) Save the date for Amanda Tyler's presentation on Sunday, April 28 AND attend the special Sunday schools in the chapel over the next few weeks. We're diving into the topic of Christian nationalism. All are welcome! I think it's safe to say that all of us are asking questions about our country and what we've witnessed in politics over the last few years. Many of us wonder what our faith has to say about the state of things, and are eager for some hope. Come and ask your questions, and together we'll seek answers. The Sunday School class meets at 9:00 am in the chapel.

Peace,

Pastor Rosy

A Message from the Houpt Family

Dear Friends & Family,

With grateful hearts, we ask you to consider supporting our fundraiser for the Cure JM Foundation. As many of you know, our daughter, Norah, has been battling the rare disease Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) for almost six years. JDM caused her immune system to attack healthy muscle and skin. Some of the treatments that have taken her from a wheelchair-bound toddler to a happy, active nine year old were funded by Cure JM.

This year for the first time locally, Norah is leading a team at a local walk! Norah’s Duckies is our name and we hope you can join us! The walk is on April 20th at 9am at the Scottish Rite in Frisco 5700 Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034. There will be fun for the kids, raffle baskets, and the short walk will start at 10am. Norah is asking the team to please wear a yellow shirt if you have one! We will also have yellow bandanas for everyone. Let us know you’ll be there by clicking the link and selecting “Join Team.”

Even if you cannot attend in person, we very much appreciate a donation of funds – every dollar takes our team closer to our goal!

Your gift will be put right to work to:

  • Advance four clinical trials
  • Help kids get the best care
  • Provide peer support for teen and young adult patients and parents
  • Fund our largest-ever new grant cycle, including investigating a new type of gene therapy

Progress in JM treatment relies on individual donations like yours, so thank you in advance for considering supporting this cause that means so much to our family.

All the best,

The Houpts | Nick, Julie, Colin, Eliot & Norah
