Maverick and Microchipping your dog

So many have asked Sherri and myself how we got Maverick back. IMO, Prayers I know a lot of people had prayed for Maverick's safety and that we would get him back.

MICROCHIP!!! Maverick was micro chipped, and. Registered with AKC Reunite. The shelter called them to find out who the owners were when they found he had a chip. Chip your dogs, but you must register that chip!

One will do no good if it’s not registered and AKC reunite is the best!

THE FaceBook COMMUNITY !

There were 141 shares of my original post! 141 people cared enough to share and get Maverick back. Your calls and emails to Ft Wayne Animal Control caused him to be transferred out. I do believe that saved Maverick. The new shelter, Humane , FT Wayne, was fabulous. One of their workers saw the share from someone in Georgia and told her director we have that dog! calls were made and within a couple hours Maverick was in Sherri‘s arms.

Now one more dog in my bed much to Sarah’ s dismay.

Now that I’ve written a book, prayers, a registered microchip, and the Facebook community who cared about getting Maverick back to us as much as we did, is how we got him home. Thanks to all of you from the bottom of our hearts.

Rainbow Bridge - Truman

Truman ~ November 13, 2008 - August 28, 2024
Truman was surrendered to YTNR in Florida, had surgery for a collapsing trachea in Tennessee (Mary Elizabeth) was rehabbed in Boston (Betty deAcetis), was known as the “Big One” and at 8 months moved to the Bay Area. He came with the name “Truman” which we fought over for 3 days but couldn’t agree on anything else so Truman he stayed. He was as low maintenance as a Yorkie could be, loved by all who met him and has left a huge hole in our lives as well as much gratitude for letting us share his life with him. Thank you YTNR

Looking for a forever home

Cooper is a snuggle puppy, there is nothing he would rather do than lie on his back in your lap and have you give him belly rubs. He has the most friendly attitude and will make a great companion puppy. YorkieRescue.com for an application/.

Mary Elizabeth's Corner

Hi Everyone,
I asked Dan what I should write about in this October issue and he thought I should remind everyone that it's Breast cancer awareness month and be sure to get your mammogram. He's a cancer survivor so he is aways aware of the important things we need to stay on top of.
We are always in need of new volunteers that can help us foster and find new homes for the little dogs that come our way. You can find a volunteer application on our website YorkieRescue.com. We need volunteers everywhere so if you can help please join our team.
If anyone has any interesting suggestions for our newsletter please send them to me, I'm always looking for new and interesting things to share with our readers.
Thank you again for all of you who are supporting our efforts in the many ways you help..
love. MaryElizabeth
