We are now in the month of Elul, a mystical time in Judaism when HaShem comes close to us to offer divine mercy, forgiveness, and redemption. This special opportunity for self examination and Teshuvah prompts us to reach out to pro-abortion advocates within the Jewish community to offer a way out of the death culture and into a life affirming relationship with our Creator.
A recent news story about making chemical abortion more accessible features Dr. Daniel Grossman, a major promoter of RU-486. Dr. Grossman reminds us of Dr. Bernard Nathanson, God rest his soul, an abortionist and early member of NARAL who successfully promoted legalizing abortion in America. Dr. Nathanson left the abortion industry after early ultrasound technology showed the demise of the unborn child during an abortion. He became a passionate pro-life advocate. Unable to find a rabbi who would meet his deep spiritual needs, Dr. Nathanson died a converted Catholic. We pray that Dr. Grossman may someday leave the abortion industry, too. We will be available for him if he does. We've sent Dr. Grossman an email offering him encouragement to consider changing his point of view.
