The Goop, The Bad, and The Unplugged

Many products found in your home are considered hazardous substances. The City offers FREE collection events for you to dispose of these products safely and responsibly.

Because of their chemical makeup, certain items can poison, corrode, explode, or ignite easily if not handled properly. Because of this, they are considered to be household hazardous waste (HHW) and must be disposed of properly. It is illegal to dispose of household hazardous waste in the trash, down storm drains, or onto the ground.

Our next FREE Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Collection Event is happening on Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City of Moreno Valley Corporate Yard, located at 15670 Perris Blvd, between John F. Kennedy Drive and Iris Avenue.

This event is for City of Moreno Valley and Riverside County residents only, and you may be asked to prove residency via a driver’s license or utility bill. The maximum amount is limited to 15 gallons or 125 lbs per vehicle, per trip.

No explosives, radioactive waste, leaking containers, commercial waste, or non-profit organization waste.

Pet of the Week: Ryder

Our Pet of the Week is Ryder, a four-year-old black and tan German Shepherd mix.

Ryder is a sweet, attentive soul and readily responds to simple commands like "sit." "stay," and "speak." With his laser-focused attention, it's obvious that he is still eager to learn many more tricks to entertain the family or stay calm and collected around other pets, or while on a walk, or even at home with the kids.

If you would like to make Ryder or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit www.moval.org/pets.
