🫁Building Healthier Communities:

NB Lung's Impact📣

💝We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the kind folks at Sleep Therapeutics, who have generously donated FOURTEEN CPAP machines to NB Lung’s Sleep Apnea Support Program! This program puts CPAP machines into the hands of New Brunswickers who cannot afford this life-changing piece of respiratory equipment. With this amazing donation, NB Lung now has a healthy stock of equipment ready to be shipped to New Brunswickers in need. Thank you, Sleep Therapeutics!

🏠The Fredericton Home Show is right around the corner! Come out and meet the NB Lung team at our exhibitor booth, where we will have information about our various programs, COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits and KN95 respirators, and radon test kits for sale. We would love to see you at the Fredericton Capital Exhibit Centre, April 5-8 for the Fredericton Home Show!

📣NB Lung and our partners in health have sent an urgent appeal to the Provincial Minister of Health, and the Minister of Women’s Equality, Addictions and Mental Health Services, calling on the government to close a loophole in federal regulations which is currently allowing the tobacco industry to market and promote flavoured nicotine pouches to Canadian children, with no restrictions on age. We are asking the government to reclassify flavoured nicotine pouches as a prescription product or to suspend the sale of nicotine pouches until the regulatory gap is closed. Contact your MLA today, and join us in the ongoing fight against youth nicotine addiction.

🫶Finally, a reminder that April is Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Month. Did you know that more than 90% of Canadians support organ and tissue donation, but only 30% are registered donors? A single donor can save up to 8 lives, and provide tissue for up to 75 patients. Registering as an organ donor is free, and easy. Simply check the appropriate box on the “Medicare Updates and Changes Form” or call 1-888-762-8600 to register today!

🎤NB Lung Takes Center Stage at

National Radon Conference🤝

We are thrilled to announce that NB Lung’s CEO, Melanie Langille, will be presenting at the 13th Annual Radon Conference hosted by the Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (CARST). The event takes place on April 24-28 in Moncton, New Brunswick.

In her address, Melanie will shed light on NB Lung's initiatives in testing radon levels across New Brunswick. Through proactive testing and education campaigns, NB Lung aims to empower communities to safeguard against radon-induced lung cancer. By sharing insights from NB Lung's community radon-testing drives, she will inspire fellow professionals to amplify their advocacy and intervention strategies nationwide.

We’re also expecting the results from our first community radon-testing drive in Havelock, New Brunswick, to be coming in shortly. You can learn more about our testing drives, and the story of Angela Stief Lea on our website.

Learn more about the CARST conference on their website, as we unite to confront the silent threat of radon and forge a path towards healthier, safer communities.
