ESA information for 2024-25

ESAs have been a blessing for many of our families. Next year the qualifications will expand to include those whose income are up to 400% poverty guidelines (this year would have amounted to $120,000 for a family of 4). While we have not been given the registration window dates yet for the 2024-2025 school year, I do have information on what income numbers the state will use to qualify families for next year.

The state board of education looks likely to pass this next week. The number they use will be line 4 (Iowa Taxable Income) on the 2023 Iowa 1040 form. Keep that in mind as you work with your tax preparers now until year end.  

As you know, all these policies are being written and passed at the state level as we are moving forward. We will continue to share information with you as we receive it. 

Recipe for a Fun Fundraiser

Start with gratitude and thanks to our great God for 'All Things Bright and Beautiful!'

Combine 172 cute and excited kids.  

Throw in some fun and happy music that they love to play and sing with.

Mix in a sprinkle of games, parachutes, hula hoops and balloons!

Toss in a few animals: grizzly bear, donkey, a cow...whatever you have.

Add a dash of helpful teachers!

Top with a sassy turkey and an ornery pig!

Stir all together with a generous audience!

Makes enough for a nice donation for our new building addition!

The OCCS office will be closed during the Christmas break (noon on Thursday, December 21-January 2).
