Most CAMPS and YMCAs are aware of Peer-to-Peer Sexual Abuse and have likely addressed one or more instances. In the past 24 months, the incidents of Peer Sexual Abuse have increased. This is a risk you will need to address in 2024.
This presentation will take a closer look at Peer Sexual Abuse risk and provide the following analysis from a sexual abuse legal expert:
- Why the risk is growing
- Where and how it is likely to occur
- Additional steps to reduce the risk
- Importance of supervision strategies
- Reporting Peer Sexual Abuse
In sum, the training will discuss how Peer Sexual Abuse unfolds, where it is likely to occur, and steps to prevent it. All session attendees will receive an online Peer Sexual Abuse Staff Training link, a Peer Sexual Abuse Risk Management Checklist, and a link to the recorded presentation.
