Health Express Urgent Care

Our History

Our owners, M. Hamed, M.D. and A. Ali, M.D. founded Health Express Urgent Care and Occupational Health Centers in 2014 in Parma, OH after observing a need for affordable, reliable, and accessible health care in Northeast Ohio. They noticed if a patient was unable to see their primary doctor, their only choice was often the emergency room.

As our patients noticed our commitment to serving outstanding, affordable, and top-rated medical care, we became committed to serving more communities. As our owners are loyal to serving the Northeast Ohio community, we opened our Avon Lake, OH facility in 2017 and facilities in Mayfield Heights, OH, and North Ridgeville, OH in 2019. We also began offering virtual care (telemedicine) visits, available daily from the convenience of your own home.

Our Vision

At Health Express, we promise empathetic, top-quality care from licensed providers for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses. There’s a reason we put “Express” in our name – we are mindful of your busy schedule and understand the last thing you want to do is wait. Health Express Urgent Care fills the need for local immediate medical care, and provides all forms of family medicine, and occupational medicine for employers.

We offer online check-in, online scheduling for book ahead visits, and accept walk-in patients. All of our centers have x-ray machines, and we offer access to patient-accessible electronic records.

For your convenience, we accept most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and Workers Comp. For patients that are self-pay, we offer a clear, affordable way to manage health care costs for you and your family. Health Express is happy to offer you convenience, comprehensive care, safety, and affordability with every visit – come experience the difference.

Why do I need a permit?

Helps Protect Property Value

Your home or business is an investment. If your construction project does not comply with Building Code requirements, the value of your property could be reduced.

Saves You Money

It could easily be said that an owner’s cheapest form of “insurance” is that of getting inspections made at appropriate times. Property insurers may not cover work or damages caused by work done without permits and inspections.

Makes Selling Property Easier

When selling property, the owner is required to disclose any improvements or repairs made and if permits and inspections were obtained. Many financial institutions will not finance a purchase without proof of inspection(s). Improper modifications made to a home or building and without inspections may require a teardown of the modifications, leaving it unoccupied or costly repairs.

Safety

The permit allows the code official to reduce potential hazards of unsafe construction and helps ensure public health & safety. While following code guidelines, your project will meet minimum safety standards and will be less likely to cause injury to you, your family, or future owners. Mandatory inspections complement the contractor’s experience and act as a system of checks and balances, resulting in a safer project.

It’s the Law

Mayfield Heights Codified Ordinance 1335.03 says

no person shall excavate, grade, or pave on any property, or construct, alter, repair, move or demolish any building or appurtenant structure on any property without first obtaining a permit from the Director of Buildings.

Middle School Plane Crash

On August 30th, the police and fire departments responded to a plane crash at the Mayfield Middle School football field. Three occupants of the plane were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Thankfully, all students were safe inside the school. The police department would like to thank the Mayfield City School District, State Highway Patrol, and FAA for cooperating and assisting with this incident. The details of the crash are still under investigation.

Homecoming Parade Road Closure

On Tuesday, September 20th, at 6:00 p.m., the police department will assist Mayfield High School with its homecoming parade. The parade will commence at Cornerstone Community Church on Lander Road, progress north, and end at Mayfield High School. Residents should expect Lander Road to be closed between Mayfield Road and Ridgebury Blvd. from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Marsol Road Closure

Marsol Road will be temporarily closed in mid-September around the area of Woodhurst and Woodrow due to utility work for the new aquatic and community center. The closure is only temporary, and detours will be posted. Details of the closure will be posted on social media, the city's website and the City Hall sign board once the dates are confirmed. Thank you for your patience.

Catalytic Converter Thefts

Catalytic converter thefts have increased in Mayfield Heights and throughout northeast Ohio. These crimes often occur at night and entail suspects crawling under vehicles and using saws to remove the converter. One of the most effective ways to prevent catalytic converter theft is to park in a well-lit area. These thefts are also more prevalent in areas where many vehicles are parked, including apartment complexes and shopping centers. Do not hesitate to contact the police department if suspicious activity occurs.

National Preparedness Month

National Preparedness Month is an observance each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. Taking the time to prepare for emergencies could make the difference in protecting yourself and your family from serious harm. Visit www.ready.gov/plan to find important information on how to prepare for an emergency. You can also order free materials to assist you.

Random Acts of Fun is back Sept. 10-20

Random Acts of Fun is an experiential scavenger hunt that encourages participants to find special sites around town, take part in events or solve puzzles while earning points and having fun! Anyone can play to compete for chances to win prizes OR just play for socialization. Random Acts of Fun is also a fundraiser so points will be earned for funds raised for CPA's programs and services, although no one is obligated to fundraise.

Registration is $35 per person with discounts for large groups and youth. In addition to the registration pack of goodies that includes an event t-shirt, some freebies, and some game-playing essentials, the first 75 participants will also receive a coupon for a free sandwich from Chick-Fil-A in Mayfield Heights and a coupon for a free bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes in South Euclid (that's worth it alone!).

This year will also include a special comedy show sponsored by Richmond Heights Place - aptly titled Random Acts of Funny! on September 29. Three professional (local) comedians (Bil Benden, Mike Conley, and Jeff Blanchard, and emceed by Tim Folger) will each perform an age-friendly 20-minute comedy set, preceded by a meet and greet prior to the show. Tickets to the show can be 'earned' by raising money during the game, or tickets will be available for $35 per person.  Random Acts of Funny! is sponsored by Richmond Heights Place, Schulte & Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home, Alert Care, and the Koewler Law Firm.

Registration is open through September 9, 2022. For more information, contact Therese Grida by email or call at 216-291-0772.

Let's Work Together

to Beautify our Community!

Please plan to join us on Saturday, November 5th, as we make a CLEAN SWEEP across our community by picking up trash and doing other general clean up before the snow flies. On Saturday, November 5th (rain or shine), we are holding a Mayfield Heights Beautification Day from 9 am till 1 pm. The beautification day will allow area residents, organizations, and businesses to work together to beautify our community. Families, community groups, churches, local businesses, and teenagers who need to perform service hours are all invited to participate. Younger children are encouraged to attend if a supervising adult accompanies them.

If you are interested in getting involved in this effort, please call the Recreation Department at 440.442.2627 or email seanward@mayfieldheights.org by Thursday, November 3rd so we can plan for supplies, instructions, and assignments. Although it is not necessary to sign up in advance, having an idea of the number of interested participants can help ensure that enough supplies are available. We are looking forward to seeing you on November 5th!

As fall yard clean-up approaches, please keep Mayfield Heights healthy by keeping litter, leaves, sticks, and pet and yard waste out of the storm drains. Remember, debris that ends up in the waterways reduces water quality.
