Happy New Year!

  • FPTV ended 2023 with 150 individuals in shelter. I’m in awe of how our community came together to support these families from many angles in the last month alone.
  • HGTV designer Emily Henderson and her team decorated our common areas with beautiful (and stylish!) holiday décor.
  • Our community donated over 500 gifts, ensuring all families had something special to give their children this season.
  • This December, we also offered family portraits and photos with Santa.
  • Holiday meals were shared with volunteers, staff, and guests.

It was a truly inspired season of love and hope in our new building. If you want to see a bit of the year in review, click the link below to view our volunteer appreciation slide show.

With so much to be thankful for, our amazing FPTV team has already hit the ground running in 2024, supporting our guests toward their goals of finding new homes. Our capacity and enrichment programming continue to grow as we settle into building ownership and operations. If you’re looking for new ways to use your gifts and talents this year, I hope you’ll join us as an FPTV volunteer and/or donor! Your support truly makes our work possible. Thank you, and cheers to another year of FPTV’s impact in our community!

2023 Slide Show

As part of our winter festivities guests received 5x7 family portraits. Thanks to Joe P. for portraying a jolly Santa Claus and Kim M. and Embassy Suites Hotel for providing a winter wonderland and Christmas tree backdrops.

FPTV is ringing in 2024 with families in shelter, new team members on staff, and new programs! We are starting the year with growing shelter capacity and increased focus on homelessness prevention programming. New initiatives for FPTV’s Bridge to Home shelter include our new Financial Literacy program, Technology Skills classes provided by Tigard Public Library, and a new and improved Housing Case Management curriculum. Each of our programs focuses on supporting stability for the long term. Outside of shelter, FPTV’s expanding Prevention team is addressing the root causes of housing instability to support families on the brink of losing their homes. The Prevention team’s primary focus is to avoid the crisis of homelessness altogether. As we continue our journey to end housing instability, we extend our gratitude to the FPTV community for your unwavering support.

We are grateful for the goodwill and generosity of volunteers and benefactors, especially during the holiday season. In addition to our educational programming and monthly bingo and movie nights, we added a host of special holiday activities. Emily Henderson and team set the stage by transforming our lobby, dining room, and playroom into winter wonderlands. The Mistle Tones, Fox Chiropractic, and Sunstone Chiropractic kicked off the winter holiday season by sponsoring a lively party. Guests in our program enjoyed a delightful musical performance, pizza, hot chocolate, cookies, and coloring books. Resurrection Catholic Parish youth, led by Kate T., orchestrated a Winter Solstice party complete with winter trivia, music, and cookies to decorate. Family portraits and a holiday store rounded out our holiday offering.

A huge thank you to St. James Episcopal Church, Lake Oswego Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Newcomers Club of Lake Oswego, Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, LAM Research, Eaton, Resurrection Catholic Parish, Providence Scholls Pediatric Clinic, Les Schwab, PTO Chapter, Edward D Jones- Jen Humphreys, Mary C. and Family, Home Solutions, Elmer Swim Schools, and more for their generosity.

Thanks to the generosity of our community members and the efforts of toy drive organizers and dedicated holiday store volunteers, guests of FPTV were able to select gifts tailored to their children’s interest.

Parents scheduled individual appointments to visit our holiday store and select gifts. The care and attention they spent picking toys their children would most enjoy was heartwarming. They were very appreciative of this opportunity.

We appreciate all of your generous support for our end-of-year giving campaign. We surpassed our goal of $30,000 and met our match challenge! Every generous donation helps families overcome the challenges in their paths, regain stability, and build their lives for a successful future.

You can continue your impact all year long by creating a monthly donation. When you give $30 or more a month, you join Club 365, a group of amazing supporters committed to helping families right here in our community whenever they need it.

Every day, families need you. Your monthly support is a powerful way to ensure Family Promise of Tualatin Valley is here to provide shelter, food, and case management whenever and wherever it is needed.
